(sorry for being offtopic) Yes, plastic model kits- Star Trek and Star Wars. I light them up with LEDs. Here's a sample of what I do:

Nice Sovvie model Wiley.  I don't have the patience for that kind of stuff tho...

Anyway, can't wait to see the rest of your WIP's brought to BC, you've got some awesome stuff on the burners. :D

Very nice Ent-E.  That's an extremely rare kit that goes for around $200 these days, minimum.  I'm amazed you have one.

New plan (or old plan for people who actually care to look back at previous pages of my thread)- DO NOT POST OR PM ME ABOUT ANY REFERENCE PICS UNLESS I SAY SO! It's getting annoying for 3+ people giving me links to the very same jamesclyne.com concept art website. Enough already. I know lots of people are crazy about the new movie but this is ridiculous. I already had the reference pics days before people here noticed it. I think I now know how DJ Curtis feels about BC modeling.........

Terribly sorry. Thought I was doing the right thing by PMing you, as you said before not to post them here.

Apologies again.

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

I really hate to be a buzzkill (And I know asking like such is rude), but Wiley, could you please post a kind of close up angled shot on the deflector of the Probert Ambassador? From the works I've seen regarding it it doesn't look right... As in, the dish was a lot shallower, for example.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Here you go. :) From the original painting, there was almost no detail in the dish area.

That's what I mean, sort of... I hope this is allowed, as I'm posting it to try and explain what I'm getting at. The front of the secondary hull is a lot stumpier on the Probert prototype.

Just figured you'd be going for accuracy with some liberties, and while you did say you have references, they don't seem to match up. Though, chances are I could be in error.

.....maybe I should say that my models are accurate to a point with a little bit of creative license. I'm basing mine off of the CGI version with some bits taken from the studio version.

The torps look alright, I was more looking at something being more Excelsior Class style torpedo bays, but they look pretty good.

Very nice, but according to the pictures, the warp engines should be closer to each other, aren't they...?

The picture is Probert's original sketch, the model next to it was a concept mesh whipped up after it, and the top is Wiley's version.

If the distance between the nacelles in the sketch was 1, and the distance in Probert's concept mesh was 3, then the distance in Wiley's is 2.

I like Wiley's best. :D
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Modders usually don't take requests and that design makes me barf anyways.  I'd never take it.
BTW, my name is also FarShot at startrekmovie.com, where that guy first posted those up.
