Wiley, that is amazing work.  I would almost swear that those are shots of the CGI model used for TOS-Remastered.  That is a truly awe inspiring rendition of the classic U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701.

I'm a bit surprised by the positive reaction regarding my TOS Enterprise model. So many people have built her before; one might think that it has been built to death.

I am currently experimenting with the speculars. I'm trying to get a look between the HD USS Enterprise and the USS Defiant from ST: Enterprise. You should notice a faint aztec- both TMP and larger slightly darker panels. I kind of like it. I want to see what your opinions are before I continue with the whole ship.

I really like the idea of adding azteking to the hull of this ship. It gives it a sense of scale and detail that the TV model severely lacked. I feel the different background colors of the panels is making the hull look a bit "checkery", however. I would keep the background colors the same and just vary the aztek pattern itself.

Hmm, well my excuse for the milky white plating of the TOS Enterprise was that they used something similar to ceramic plates, sort of like the armor the space shuttle uses.

Regardless, the minor metallic plating details look good, but they bring down the canonocity meter to a mere 9.99999999.....

Good.  I didn't want the aztecing to be really noticable, just subtle. The hull needed a little something.

This is one ship that IMHO, could never be "over done". Except....

Until this one of yours. I personally wouldn't even want another one done after this one... it looks so far, that good.

BTW, as cool as it sounds that DJ is seriously thinking about making an Ambassador Class.... I really, REALLY, think that LC's Ambassadors are pretty exceptional.

If they were never made by anyone else other than LC, then I would definitely say absolutely DJ, go for it but.... I'm feeling somewhat torn. I'm a firm believer that there could always be something made that's "better" - but I also strongly believe that when there's something that already exists that's not just good but, outstanding... does it really need to be made better.

I might swallow these feelings after I see the Ambassador DJ might make and take in the usual awesome caliber of his work but, well, I just think in some cases, when is enough... enough.

the only reason im saying that DJ should make an Amassador class is that he and Wiley have already made 5 out of the seven Enterprises  which would be the NX-01 (Wiley) the NCC-1701 (TOS - WC) the NCC-1701 (TMP, TWOK -WC)  NCC-1701-B (WC ) NCC-1701-D (TNG All Versions _ DJ).....our Sovereign really doesn't need to be redone and of course DJ has already done the Enterprise -F and Enterprise -G with the Century and Eclipse Classes......

I remember LC was making mid-end Sovereign but it ended up as an unfinished model and presumably it will be new Sov model for Excalibur ( I hope)

yea im sure....and or your take on the Sovereign.....even though CG's is spectacular...and Wiley i was half drunk last night when i posted but where might i find your NX-01?? Is it up on BCFiles?? I haven't had a chance to look...
