I guess that making an HP for an already damaged ship would be harder than one that's in perfect shape.  IIRC, the Constellation had only one working phaser bank, no photon torpedoes, or warp drive.  And she handled like a drunk was at the helm.

Good luck on the new JJPrise.  If you haven't seen them, you might check out Tobias Richter's orthos of the new version of his Enterprise model.  Since that was based off the shots from the Starship Simulator on the Blu-Ray, they're probably more accurate than any other schematics out there since Paramount and ILM seem reluctant to share any schematics of the actual movie model.

Good luck on the new JJPrise.
It's been exactly a year since I released my JJEnterprise, so I'm starting a new one. The saucer of the new JJprise is mostly complete with textures, specs, and minor modeling. Not bad for a week and a half of off and on work. I'm taking extra time with this one to get all of the "accurate" details and difficult curves. Enjoy. :)

Is she going to be the ILM 725.35 meters or the Ex-Astris 366m?

More than awesome  *cookied*
btw, I can only dream of modeling skills like that. I really appreciate your work  ;) , I know how hard is to model a ship with such kind of complexity :eek But this one Enterprise looks like with reduced poly count.

That is godly :yay:

I would do something with the spotlights though, it looks a bit funny where they over lap each others edges

I'm experimenting with different ways to create spotlights. They are not final.

I figured that every detail does not necessarily has to be modeled in. I still have to model some minor things like turbolifts and navigation lights. The saucer itself is 6.5k polys.

I think he's possibly referring to the fact that the edge of the saucer are a little jagged instead of smooth.

Well other than the phaser "burns" it looks perfect.

I see nothing wrong with it, just pointing out that that may have been what was meant by "low poly".  I think it looks just fine, and in fact, a cookie to Wiley for continuing to try and make that ship as perfect as possible.

I was never fond of the design, but this is growing on me Wiley :) Good job :D

I myself did not like the new design upon first glance, but the ship has all of the components for it to be called The Enterprise. The ship design will be better accepted if it is properly executed for BC (not saying that previous versions are bad- Baz did a good job on his last one). I'm going to start on the engineering hull/neck next.

Good luck with those parts Wiley.  I was ambivalent towards the design at first, but subsequent images after the first shot, as well as the works of modelers like Wiley, baz, and Tobias Richter really sold me on the design, especially once I could see the ship in motion.  The JJ Enterprise is somewhat like the Enterprise-D.  Awkward at first glance, but once in motion, she's sleek, powerful, and a work of art.
