I prefered the Sovie in FC, the Nemisis version had far too many torpedo launchers and the saucer ones were added to the most idiotic places.

It seems like John Eaves had always intended those launchers to be there.  I remember reading somewhere that he didn't have the opportunity to finish putting in all the little details he wanted originally, which is something he was able to do for Nemesis.  I always thought that's why it looked like she was firing torpedoes from above the Shuttle bay even though a physical launcher wasn't added until Nemesis.

Either way, I can't wait to see Wiley's First Contact Sovereign :).  I'll happily add her to my fleet.

Well, unless Wiley doesn't make an ID map, there's no need for mine either JTK LOL

Well, at the time of FC there were only 2 Sovereign-class ships, the Sovereign and the Enterprise. Too bad that Max 9 doesn't support animation exporting for BC.

Here is a small update- the deflector area and the shuttlebay/bridge area. The whole mesh is 5k polys.

There is a tutoral on adding anamations to the Nif with nif Tools, you may want to try that.

Actually the JLS Sovereign is probably the most accurate Nemesis Sovereign I can think of.  They took CG's Sovereign and meticulously repainted her using the film's CGI Studio Model as a reference.  Every Aztec pattern should be perfect.  That's the good thing about this particular Sovereign though is that we now get an extremely Wiley accurate version of the First Contact Sovereign.  My question is however, could we Possibly get an Insurrection Sovereign to complete the pack?

The only real thing I can think of that's different about the Sovereign in Insurrection compared to the First Contact version, would just be the shape of the Captain's Yacht.  Since the Yacht was actually used in Insurrection, she has a more rounded look.  I'll have to take a closer look though, to see if there are more differences.

We could explain the differences between the two models (FC and INS) is that the yacht in FC was simply a placeholder and or not really the captain's yacht....seeing that the new Enterprise was deployed during war time (Dom War/Borg Invasion) by the following year the Dominion War was over so the Enterprise was able to receive her functional captain's yacht by the time of Insurrection. Either way..can't wait to see a WC Sovereign to go with a CG Sovereign LOL get 'er done Wiley!!!!!!!!!!

Probably. I could rebuild a new captain's yacht and build the torpedo bay around it. It's doable, but not immediately likely. I'm about done building up the underside of the saucer. Adding this detail brings the mesh up to 7.6k polys.

Interesting theory but Insurrection took place dead smack in the middle of the Dominion War so it doesn't work.  We can always just assume that if the First Contact Yacht was just a place holder, than she received a new one when she returned to the 24th Century.  She would have spent time in drydock anyways to remove/study all the Borg Technology.  The same can be said for the differences between Insurrection and Nemesis.  She took Damage from the Son'a so they upgraded her to the Nemesis version post Insurrection.  If you think about it, she would have spent drydock time immediate after all three of her appearances lol.  Poor girl can't catch a break.

I looked over the First Contact and Insurrection versions and there weren't a whole lot of differences.  The only thing that really looked different between the two was the lighting.  The windows of the First Contact Enterprise looked more blue while the Insurrection version was more white light.

How do you plan to do the Aztec pattern Wiley?  Neither movie really gives you a good shot of the paneling.  Ex Astris has a few good shots taken of the Physical model, but only parts of it.  They do however have the CGI shots Doug Drexler provided of the Insurrection model.  You could always use that for the Aztecing if you haven't decided.  Of course what ever your plans are I'm sure they'll be fantastic no matter what :).

First Contact takes place early 2373, whereas the onset of the Dominion War didn't happen until the middle of 2373. So the Enterprise "being out in space for over year", happened long before the onset of the Dominion War, or the 2nd Borg incursion into Sector 001.
