Partly, but polygons become a problem when damage starts happening.  While high poly models work fine most of the time, the damage engine can bog down calculating the damaged mesh when you get hit.

Lint's models anyone?

Which ones? The ones that can't damage because they crash the game, or the ones that do because lint was able to patch them after they were crashing the game.

The ones that don't crash the game but don't even make half of a go at trying to damage.

I really loved his ships in particular, it's a shame he never got his head round the damaging.

With an engine like BC's it's hard to blame him.

Is he working on Excal?

Agreed, and I just want to say to Wiley that I think his skills have matured to the point of his being a fully paid-up member of the BC Greats Club.

The fact that he's still improving with every highly-anticipated release is icing on the cake, and he's well on his way to superstardom. Next stop, World Domination!

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

I've paused construction on the Enterprise-E. I'll resume construction on it once my skills have improved further in the future (maybe a few months). Meanwhile, I'm starting to build my own designs. I still have to build the secondary hull beneath the saucer. I was thinking of something similar to the Dauntless.

That's pretty slick.  I think a Dauntless style deflector design would be perfect.  I'm now excited for more detail on this one.  Cookie :D

If you haven't already created a back story for her Wiley, I've been inspired to write one up.  I can post it here if you'd like to see it, although I left the name and registry blank since I don't know what she'll be called yet.

Awesome design for sure.  Lines definitely flow seamlessly from the saucer to the engineering hull.  I generally prefer warp pylons swooping upward, but this really makes me rethink that opinion.  Cookie with chocolate chips :P

Prommie-Akira hybrid.  Though Prokira sounds like a miracle drug or something. :funny

I think something a bit more unique can be done with the deflector though.  Now that I've stared at it for a bit, it looks tacked on to me, like it did on the Dauntless.  Seems a bit like someone forgot to make a cut and just slapped it onto the hull.

I like the idea of blending it with the secondary hull (someone associated that deflector style with slipstream, and now that won't leave my head), but I would add something to make it not look exactly like the Dauntless if you know what I mean.
