could always make this the Ent E (alt time frame of course) cause they did have the 6 foot model of the D with the E markings on it (after Gen when they were thinking of what ship to use in the next film)

oh yeah and *cough* very nice so far :D
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

The picture was a few ST production guys standing around a large wooden crate inspecting the Generations 1701-D labeled as 1701-E. Though I thought the picture was a joke.

Anyone can rename the Enterprise-D into the E, and I'm surprised no one has done that yet. Maybe it's because no one wants to do that.

If the Galaxy X is on the table, could i suggest a non canon this that would make the pack perfect? A new up to date version of LC's EAV Galaxy would complete the best pack yet. Great work.

EAV Galaxy?

eh it's no joke... it was shown on TNG Season 2 DVD box set, Disc 6.

I think he meant LC's Galaxy EVO.

Sorry, I'm a casual trekker. I don't own the series only a few episodes. Plus, I think this thread should go back on topic.

It was meant to be part of the topic... I was suggesting that to avoid too many ENT D's around here and to add verity on what could have been... by renaming it to E but ah well >.<

I like the Galaxy so far. If you don't mind my asking are there plans for a Venture-variant as well?

The Galaxy Class is much like the Miranda class- lots of variants. Please note- I am not done building the basic Galaxy Class mesh. Variants might be discussed once I have the basic mesh completed.

If you're hung up with the name, what's wrong with Dauntless? After all, isn't that the ship you command in the single player campaign?

Seriously, there are other galaxies besides the Enterprise.

Ahem, sorry about that outburst. Nice model. looking forward to seeing a new galaxy class, now if only it has names other then Enterprise, you know, mix things up a little.

The Dauntless ship that was shown in the intro cinematic, was a different variant with flush saucer impulse engines. There would be installation confusions for people trying to get my ship to work for story mode.

Very true, but people grew up with the Enterprise.

I'm almost there with the mesh. I have the upper structures, along with the neck and ship phasers left to do.  :) To make this Enterprise different would be a more militaristic texture similar to Yesterday's Enterprise. I could easily add some subtle fake bump-mapping. Though the ship in that episode had no exterior changes. This would be a what-if version and I can still texture the ship into the canon Ent-D.

The mesh is currently 4.8k polys.

I've added the undersaucer windows/yacht and it brings the mesh up to 5.3k polys. I plan for the mesh to be under 10k polys.
