It is mega close, too, you're right. I LOVE what you did with the Pylons and nacelles tho... they're pretty much what I always wanted, but I was never sure how to implement it.
It's close to your version 1 of the the Mithra. Your current version is still unique. I've started working on the deflector area, and I have some sort of Sovereign-Akira engineering thing going on to keep with traditional designs. I'm liking it. I still have yet to add a few polies to smoothen out the roundness of the trench rim and I'll add some misc surrounding details soon.

That pic really gives it an Akira look, which isn't a bad thing IMO.  How big is she going to be?

Since I've now added the bridge, it will probably be about the same size as the Proteus, basically around the size of the Enterprise-E. maybe a bit bigger. I'll know when I start texturing.

I've added extra detail around the deflector and port and starboard firing pulse launchers on the upper saucer. The Sovereign-styled designs around the defector is good practice when I get working on the Enterprise-E again. After looking at the original Achilles ship, it was an uber-ship with loads of weaponry. I'm trying to make it a possible usable ship.

I really like the engineering hull on this so far, It's dramatically better than the original. Also have you put any thought into the Ventral armaments?

Personally I believe that two phaser arrays, that run the somewhat of the length of the saucer, similar to that of an Intrepid class, would suit her well. And another set of launchers added to the aft edge of the engineering hull would help to give the ship some aft coverage.

My reasoning behind the suggested addition of the ventral arrays, is because I do not believe that a ship of that size would be able to defend itself properly with only pulse phaser weaponry. Even the Defiant had several standard, but small, arrays. With a ship of this size there's a lot more ground to cover, and a lot more blind spots than there would be on a ship like the Defiant.

In regards to the size of the Achilles, Memory Beta, which has the entire history of the Achilles taken from the Dominion wars game, states that the vessel is slightly smaller than the Sovereign, at approximately 612 Meters in length. So you're in the ball park with it's size.

I can't wait to see more of the small details that i'm sure you will add to the ship. I was curious as how you were going to handle that bridge module until I saw it. It came out very well. You could probably make it even longer with that extra space you have behind it.

I am curious as to what that flat rectangular structure is behind the bridge though. Will that be the bussard housing for the auxiliary warp drive?

Keep up the good work Wiley.

Wiley, you are a modding GOD!

You make this seem so easy LOL

The bridge module itself is decoration. I'll texture some escape pods on either sides. The rectangular bit on the very top of the ship is a thru-deck fighter/shuttlebay that will launch Valkyrie fighters. Yes, I will build them too. :D Plus, you wouldn't want shuttles crashing into the bridge all of the time.

I'll work on it now. Along with RCS thrusters, more Defiant bits, etc. The current poly count is 5k polys, but around 10.6k tris.

Well that makes sense, because I believe that the Achilles had no shuttlebay.

Also when you say "thru-deck" does that mean that the shuttles will launch out of one area, and land in another? Perhaps launch from that area aft of the bridge, and land in the aft of the engineering hull? That would be very neat.

Sweetness!  I love your first version of the Valkyrie fighter, despite some small inaccuracies(that I believe I discussed with you back when it was released), and I can't wait to see how you've improved it!

Well since Wiley has been helping me on the Sentinel, I have been steadily giving him references for the Valkyrie fighter from Star Trek: Invasion, as well as the actual in-game model that was created by Warthog for the PS1 classic, that I had acquired. So this time around it will be as close as it possibly can to the actual fighter. :D

I've added phasers, torpedo launchers and misc details. The current poly count is 4.5k polies, and 9.5 tris. Enjoy! :D

Good gods, you could model in all the hull lines without BC complaining at the rate you're going at :P That's a pretty good count for her. And I love the little pulse cannons on the port and starboard side... but weren't they supposed to be dorsal torpedo launchers? ;) I only say this because I noticed on our KM Achilles, the dorsal pulse phaser emitters really do squat-all for defensive or offensive tactics. In short, they're pretty useless. I hope yours will at least pack a nice punch. :P
