Nice idea! The area for the torpedoes is very tight. Don't blame me, I didn't design it. :funny

KILL JOHN EAVES!!! *runs with a pitchfork* :P

This summer, I WILL do a livestream tutorial on mapping and texturing. It seemed difficult to do at first, but practice makes perfect less mistakes. :)

I figured you would do that ;) LOL Can't wait

The yacht is modeled separately and it will separate. It is untextured at the moment- but yes, a whole new captain's yacht.
YES!!!  :yay: :yay:  and that cutouts where it will be looks awsome, one question, are you going to script it so when you launch the yacht it actually detaches from the hull and folds out like in the film and this is in a cutscene? cuz that would be really awsome.

I have never scripted anything like that before. The yacht has a lot of moving parts- the pylons fold down, and the nacelles turn as they go down. That would be a lot of parts to move and possibly more ways for it to not work.

I could do a youtube animation of the scene.

Design wise, I think it was one of those situations that Eaves thought it would not be seen launching, like on the Galaxy, then Insurrection happened, :D

Man, you should have a jar of cookies for your efforts. Now that is what I call detail.

Awesome.

Cookied you Wiley. Love how the Yacht's docking area textures don't look like textures much at all, but more like modeled in detail. Awesomeness.

I just got the pylons textured. There's some minor aft-stripe texturing to do, and I need to fix a few minor pylon mesh/mapping errors. I also included the aft torpedoes as seen in Eave's sketches.

Gorgeous! Really stunning stuff!

You've probably seen the incredible Enterprise-E with interior being built over at Scifi-Meshes.com (Amazing video here)

He has a yacht docking area much like yours, well done again.

Much?  Other than the missing docking clamps...I'd say it's almost exactly like it texture wise...I think he got his ideas from him!

There's a slight lip with a ladder under the hatch into the saucer in the CGI version which Wiley doesn't seem to have (could be the angle), makes the hatch make more sense with the shape of the hull (the scoop) behind it.

Otherwise, yeah, it's a dead ringer.

just found a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txvygvZgCWo&feature=related) which could be used to make a bridge set for the yacht, and ive been doing some looking around and ive learnt from the film just exactaly how the whole yacht detachement scene works.

I actually hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out

Guys, this is a very small and tiny area of the ship, and we are nitpicking it. I'm not going to change it.
