Wiley, I believe the Enterprise was, for some reason, at warp for the rest of the film.  That moment when the ship appeared to "exit" warp was actually the ship arriving at the cruising velocity of Warp 7.  Weird, makes no sense, but there you go.

The first two movies they where really paying attention to detail. Most of the movie the ship was either stationary or at warp. The first one was the only time that we ever saw the warp sequence as we know it was changed, and the "exit at warp 7" was in fact the ship steadying her speed. This was never, ever repeated, anywhere!

Indeed.
I would prefer at impulse the impulseengine and crystal is glowing only and in warp only the warp nacelles glow (if that is possible). That makes sense to me.
But in the end its your choise.

i think the warp warm-up script should have the engines light up and the impulse engines dim...and then when the ship is at impulse speeds..the impulse engines light up while the warp engines are dim

Well Wiley, I believe that V'Ger was traveling at warp speed, so the Enterprise should be at warp in order to keep up with it.  Again, it doesn't really make sense with how warp is portrayed through the rest of the movies and tv shows.

And that last shot with the impulse/warp off shouldn't have propulsion systems activated since it was being tractored in. :idk:
I really wish there could've been more consistency in all of that. :hithead:

EDIT: Speaking of inconsistencies, those pics you put up have some really odd ones with the aft windows.

I personally don't care. This is the best ship ever created for BC quite frankly.

Wiley if people are so concerned why not include an extra Enterprise ID map with the activated impulse engines? But I think she is fine as is!

Not really, V'Ger is big enough to carry Enterprise in her gravitational pull. Don't forget that excluding the Dyson Sphere, she was one of the two biggest ships in Trek.

yea..the differences are the newer CGI scenes added in.. vs the physical model.. dumbasses that designed the CGI model for the Special Edition didn't pay much attention to the details did they now?

ok guys i think this discussion can come to an end...  there is another forum dedicated to all discussions about trek movies, wileys thread shouldnt be taken offtopic as such...

as far as wileys ship and the discussion related, i think it has been addressed...

Wiley if people are so concerned why not include an extra Enterprise ID map with the activated impulse engines? But I think she is fine as is!
I'll see what I can do.

it would be best to move on from that topic, unless wiley has anything else to add of course...

I realize that.

Stationary and with warp glows....

http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/tmp/themotionpicture0862.jpg

And impulse glow changes color (similar to deflector)

I guess it will be personal preference.

I think that the warp core is powered up to high non propulsive levels to provide power for the phasers and shields in the Veger arrival shots. I know for a fact that the last part where Enterprise is moving to the Veger chamber that she is being pulled by a tractor beam.

I think the new pic you posted provide a an elegant solution and works very well. While I personally prefer the blue I don't think this detract at all and as a TMP representation it has the advantage of being right

Honestly, I thought that this was what Wiley was planning from the start and he just hadn't gotten the scripting done with the first series of pics.  I even said as much.  He's doing the best he can with keeping the ship true to how it was seen in the movie, which is hard in itself when the movie itself isn't always consistent.

Wiley, she looks awesome and I wasn't trying to be annoying on this topic. :hithead:

ID maps work! I still have to tweak the specular maps, since they are barely noticeable when seen ingame.
