They're curved like that as posted in the HR image I put up earlier, though just a tad thicker. Though it works.

I think he's just commenting that he doesn't like the design overall.

I know you are sticking to what has been seen so far of the JJPrise, but can I suggest that you get rid of the registeries at the base of the nacelle pylons and under the deflector dish. They look out of place and they have done ever since I saw the reference pics you are most likely using. Its just a personal opinion so its entirely upto.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

There's an issue near the deflector that needs to be addressed, and I think the pylons are rather off... Otherwise I like it so far. :]

markyd did sort the smoothing out for me but I could not open it at my end.

I see the reg should not be at the base of the pylons but is under the deflector.

I'll be happy to sort the smoothing out (if I knew how) but other than that the mesh is done. (had to unwrap everything again after adding the hanger doors)

The upper and lower secondary hull texture needs tweaking to line up the hull lines

And I have to build a impule drive.

u know, its prob because i use 2009  :(

** firstly i apologise for showing ur mesh here, but it kinda speeds up the explanation a little**

The mesh errors on your model are appearing because either the angles of smoothing are extreme, I.E smoothing over a 90 degree plane, or because you dont have 3 sided polygons, in max you can't always see them, its nice working in edit poly, but u need to keep in mind... its always a mesh.

Hope it helps, good luck.

Will have to try that. Is it just smoothing or did you add poly's? if so which tool did you use?

Could you not export to 3ds or OBJ and send me that?

Here are some more texture updates

Changed the smoothing groups, primarily the rim of the hull around the deflector..  and as seen used, the cut tool to create new faces and the weld tool to tidy up..   exporting to those formats messing with the smoothing though right? im not to sure... im sure someone will buzz in  :)

did you collaps any polys? I've tried all sorts and still can't get rid of the lower shadows. Smoothing not my finest hour

Dont want to spam your thread with modelling 101 mate.. if you have msn   im at the same email addy, i will help you right now step by step mate.

but for everyone else.

* EVERY FACE IN A MODEL, WHEN RENDERED IS THREE SIDED (TWO TRIANGLES COMBINED)
* SMOOTHING GROUPS SHOULD BE ASSIGNED AS YOU SEE THEM...  DONT ASK MAX TO SMOOTH OVER 90 DEGREES...
* A CLEAN MODEL IS A HAPPY MODEL, ENSURE UR MESH IS UNIFIED AND COMPLETE, NO HOLES, ALL VERTS WELDED NO OVERLAPPING FACES OR NORMAL DISTURBANCES.

 :arms:

MSN  me mate. Im always online.

Try me... I'll stay online as long as im not too drunk...

Hey, but i like your texture set, but i also think to need to stick your top and bottom saucer on a seperate map, then ur hull and necelles on another...   mapping im not too good at, i go with the flow and dont think about loading in game etc, but i dont play games...   :o

Love the render on the movie still... cant wait to see this film.
