I am probably being stupid, but could someone give me an example of the launcher??

TOS photons were blue, kinda Defiant-ish pulse-like bolts, no flare, and fired from the belly under the saucer. they had no defined launcher.

not until TMP, at least.

Ok, thanks.. in that case i will go with a more subtle tmp effect. cheers.
