Barihawk's Bridge Projects
« on: February 09, 2009, 10:17:09 AM »
Instead of doing generic bridges I have decided to provoke more interest by doing specific localized bridges. This will first off remove the hassle of trying to replace identifying objects like the MSD and dedication plaque, which will give me an opportunity to make my own. I haven't made a proper full scale MSD since the Pegasus Project nearly two years ago, and that has gone on to be one of the most popular bridges on BCFiles.

So, here's a list of current projects:

-USS Righteous (Excelsior Class)
This is the bridge from the video game Star Trek: Borg. I will attempt to get it as close as possible, although the LCARS will be definitely different and for the better. You can see a video here:
&feature=PlayList&p=EC15E8E30186D5D2&index=6
Progress: 60% Complete. What's left? LCARS for most of the bridge, MSD.

-USS Defiant
I will be redoing the Defiant Bridge with up to date LCARS in high resolution and doing my best to improve the interior. The bridge will take on a darker tone and the only blue will be from the LCARS. No more beige!
-Progress: 5%. Still in the experimentation phase. Relies on LCARS from Righteous bridge.

-USS Saritoga (Nebula Class Bridge)
This will be the Saritoga from DS9 1x1. It will be very difficult to deal with the mapping on the Nebula v3, wish I had access to Nebula v4. Rest assured that when Excalibur is released, I will be modding their bridges. First and foremost, this one. I'll try to do it in BC, though.
Progress: 15%. Needs MSD, textures, LCARS from Righteous, and new TMP isolinear chips. Those will probably be borrowed from the new Defiant.

-Olympic Class Bridge
You guys already know about this one.
Progress: 70%. Bridge textures done. Needs LCARS from Righteous, new MSD (mine got trashed :(). No rush since MarkyD has to rebuild his model.

-Yamaguchi bridge
This will be brought up to current standards. No tactical display, I feel it was poorly implemented on the Ambassador bridge. Gave a cramped feeling. This will recieve a total facelift as well as the Righteous LCARS.
Progress: 5%

-V'orcha bridge (however you spell it)
This will be a simple retex and lightmap overhaul of the Galor class...maybe. I'm really not sure. I'll try, though.
Progress: 0%

-ST6 Enterprise Bridge
Will be retextured to bring it in line with modern standards. Will be tough as hell. I will be creating 100% brand new TMP textures for this based around that style. The tactical display will be fully realized. This will take...a very LONG time.
Progress: 0%

-TMP Era Ship (I need help with which one?)
Late TMP styled bridge. Will replace the former Late TMP Generic, go figure. This will end up being generic, just because there are far too many TMP era ships.
Progress: 95% (needs a new plaque). Ideally going to be the first release.

Actually using Trekcore for the Righteous LCARS (technically they are from the Saritoga, but meh :P). Once I saw the look of Amber and Blue in Emissary, I loved it.

Thanks for the support, I hope to get these projects done!

Ha, that Star Trek Borg thing is funny.  Would look good retextured Voy style.

You mean like in the first screenshot? Most of the work is done on that bridge, I just need to finish the LCARS (which you can see the general color palette in the screenshot on Saffi's panel), MSD, and touch up the environment after I get the full visual effect.

EDIT: Yamaguchi is fixed, teaches me to look at texture paths :P.

Got Yamaguchi and Olympic ingame, the latter of which is very beautiful. Got some good ideas to spice up the Yamaguchi, as well.

Here's a shot of the TMP bridge, since I didn't have on in the first post.

Cookies are also welcome and encouraged, by the way :P.

Done.

Good, cause that set is too dark as it is.  On "Borg", it was brighter.

Yeah, I haven't had a chance to raise the ambient light on the main lightmap since I opened up the ceiling light. I should go do that right now!

I've come a long way for the power of Genesis and what do I find? A Square Pegs reject, another actress playing Saavik and Leonard Nimoy's stand-in!

It'll be a 90% match. I can't do the helm panel. Aside from that station, the rest is spot on. The LCARS will probably be different, though.

It's all they had with set pieces, the others were being used for other ships as this game was made during the filming of both DS9 and Voyager.

Projects on hold a bit as I am a busy beaver, but I'll get back on them soon.

And First Contact, if memory serves.

The corridors and the turbolift for the Righteous are redresses of the ones used for the Voyager in "Star Trek: Voyager." Computer Core Control is in fact a redress of Voyager's engineering section.

The Jefferies Tubes are actually a re-use of the ones seen on the Enterprise-E in "First Contact," strangely enough!

Wasn't the Saratoga a Miranda variant? Just thought I'd say :P

All in all, very good! I'm guessing that Yamugachi is more of an early version of it (rather than the one with new LCARS and two command seats)?
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

It was also a standard Miranda too (like the Reliant)...

Anywho, wow these bridges look amazing! Love that Olympic bridge, the colours and ambiences are perfect!
