Your TOS Enterprise model looks awesome! It looks like there are some missing faces on the aft-nacelle box things. What are those called?

good spot wiley, fixed.

Decided to ditch the windows more trouble than they are worth. Added a row of verts to saucer and built bridge module.

If you have the model properly mapped, I could retexture it after you release it. For my TOS animation on my Youtube page, I created all new bussard textures. We could start working together on some of these projects rather than separately.

Would it be possible to get some closeups of that neck?  It looks interesting.

It looks more like it could be chamfered a bit in the front...

Otherwise it looks great :)

Sure thing wiley. The best way to make your mapping fit my model was to use your TOS textures.

If I could get a copy of you animated bussards I do stick them right on.

I see there are some areas where the saucer rim windows are a bit stretched, also the saucer's sensor dome is lit up too much. It should only be the dome. I'll have to update the textures for your mesh after you have exported it.

Brilliant job on the texturing, though! The hull lustre is bang on!

I'll second the motion to chamfer the leading edge of the neck, though. Could be the lighting in those renders, though, it appears to have very crisp terminators.

ok done alot of map tweaking, rebuilt the lower bridge and rounded the front of the dorsal. Added impulse engine and running lights.

I have also animated the lights to blink on and off.

The forward 3 windows of the saucer rim (deflector?) look too squished, but everything else looks great!

just for a bit of fun I gave the MK1 JJprise a fresh lick of paint (actually the textures from the mk5)

other than some rough edges she does not look to bad.

The JJ Enterprise continues to grow on me.  I didn't like her at first but she's not all bad.  As for the original you're working on there, she's beautiful.  Have you ever thought of doing a hybrid of the original and JJ?  There are a bunch of them out there, or at least interpretations of what the new Enterprise could have looked like, but it would be neat to see your interpretation.  Especially after seeing the JJ-Refit you came up with.  There were certain things from the JJ I would like to see on the original ship and I would just do it myself if I could model, but I don't have the time at the moment to learn.  Someday though when I have more time.  Things I think would be neat are...

1. Remove the glowing white ball on the back of the original nacelles.  Instead, make it look more like the back of the JJ Nacelles.  Maybe add that blue strip on the bottom of the nacelles also?
2. Make the Bussard collectors look functional like the JJ ship, but keep the red/orange color of the original
3. Make the neck slightly thicker in order to house a single torpedo launcher, like the JJ but keep the same general look of the original
4. Give the deflector a similar upgrade as the JJ ship but keep the Gold color.  Maybe back light it in Blue.
5. Add phasers where you would naturally expect to find them.

EDIT: Thought of some more

6. Curve the nacelle pylons in a similar fashion to the JJ, but keep the same basic design of the original
7. Enlarge the secondary hull, (and essentially the entire ship), to about the size of the Refit.
8. Stretch the ship's neck back like the JJ but not as far.
9. Perhaps add the same addition above the Bussard collectors, but not as large as the JJ's.  Something more like the Gabe Koerner Enterprise.

Those are just some of my ideas, not really a request or anything.  Although if it's inspiration for anything feel free to do what ever lol.  I attached a basic crude image I did in paint of what I mean.

hmm...good point.  TOSerprise with the JJ deco

thing is, the "glowing white ball" on TOS nacelles is a speculation.  it was too bright in the unrestored series to tell, and it appeared in the original, that the only thing that was actually glowing on the engines was the Bussards (i've only ever seen the flyby potshots at old doomsday in the remaster footage)

oh, if baz doesn't do that JJ redeco to the TOSprise, I might.  i still have an unhardpointed Connie i could play with.  the whole thing needs a reskin anyway.

Oh, man, that is so cool! Baz-seeking Cookie missile away!

You gonna use Ftech or MVAM to model swap for shuttle launching?

I also see your Rec-Deck windows! Great work!
