If you're going to do that, I suggest messing with Max's noise material and animating it. Then you can fine tune the effect and render as many, or as few frames as you like.

the ship looks better than one could believe from a combo of JJ's and the TMP Enterprise. IF t could make a suggestion, You should add the 2 fins to the end of the nacelles like on the TMP for character.

I personally think it looks better without the fins. Gives it a more unique look.

Personel I will not be adding fins as that is a TOS look. The refit only had a small tail fin that when I designed the jj refit nacelle tried to incorperate but it just looked out of place.

Anyway here is another proposed bussard texture I knocked up in my lunch break showing at impulse (dark) and warp (Glow).

I have two posible warp looks.

I think the first nacelle if the coils were a lot darker or simply a different texture. Having bussards and nacelles both gassy doesn't seem right imo.

i think the fronts should be lit up like you have..but you should keep the outboard grilles dark like the TMP Prime Connie and just have the inner grilles lit up...

I'm not happy with the side grills either so we be reverting them back to soild colour.

The "powered down" bussard will stay but will look at a "powered up" alternative

I would say have the grills light up at warp to make it look like they function at warp.. And Keep with the blue bussard, it fits TMP era.

Just keep the nacelles TMP and the bussards blue. Then it'll be brilliant.

But not "BLUE BLUE" of TNG and ENT, a tealish, cyan, light blue for the grills would work best for JJ.
