I wonder if it's possible to create multiple docking points by means of adding a fake dockable station in the positions of each docking point (sort of like using f-tech for the variable geometry warp nacels on voyager when you initiate warp - except in this case there are no 3D models, just a script).  Anyways, it's just a thought.

Added the defences sails. Just need to add the outer docking ports and finish OPS

Still not sure about the runabout pads as I have not idea how to get them to work. Also at the moment it stands at 45K polys so getting a little heavy.

Something about the outer docking ring seems off to me.

Bits of the outer ring still need filling by the looks of it.

Looks fantabuloso though. :D

I wouldn't worry too much about the polies. She's a Starbase so you will only ever have 1 in system at a time. Shoot for the moon.

That's not it...it seems to me, and I could be wrong about this, but shouldn't the wider gaps in the docking ring only be on the pylons?

You're right,, the wider docking bays are at the pylons with 3 narrower onces in between the pylons on the docking ring.

When using 3ds Max, set your rendering to Light Tracer, and place a Skylight into the scene, then render your pic.

Very good, you're right.  The outer Docking ring is level with the other rings in this rendition.
It's supposed to be below the the habitat ring's elevation.  Considerably lower.  That of course means that the pylons attaching the rings together slant down to the Docking Ring.

Had another idea concerning the season 4 weapons platform. Maybe also as MVAM? (instead runabouts)

When using 3ds Max, set your rendering to Light Tracer, and place a Skylight into the scene, then render your pic.

Other option is to put a script behind a button, and use it all the times that you need without to change the scene. See how: http://www.mrbluesummers.com/269/3d-tutorials/scripted-clay-rendering-tutorial/ By the way, that page has a lot of good tuts available. ;)

Back on topic, you?re doing a fine job Baz!

Wouldn't the runabouts just be lunched like shuttles?
