Stardrive needs to be pushed further forward under the saucer (imho). Looks a bit too "weak" in the area connecting the saucer to the stardrive. I think the entire stardrive + pylons/nacelles could easily be pushed forward a bit, and give it a more solid design.

Just giving a constructive opinion :)

I second that.

Starting to take shape quite nicely.

Something like this. Forward part of the "deflector cowl" where the red line is indicated on the first image. Just a suggestion.

I'll third that. The connection between the secondary hull and the saucer also looks a little sudden, to me.

Apart from that, liking it. :)

Comments taken onboard and the ship is heavily revised.

Deflector housing brought forward, and the secondary hull shortened.
The join between hulls has been revised. (These were not easy mods on the unified mesh)
And some other small tweaks.

Now that's sleek!! I suppose you could still keep the deflector in the position you had it before and the extended bit is just a shroud/guard for it. Makes such a vital component a harder target to hit.

Looks like an arrow, or some ship that could punch through another ship's hull.

To bridge or not to bridge that is the question?

Call me old fashioned but I like a bridge perched on top, should add one or leave the upper surface as is?

Bridge, I'm sure you could incorporate it into the design. ;)

I'd say extend the top "flat surface" forward a bit, then add a simple "bridge dome" on top, near the front of it.

Then again, it may seem weird if the "structure" behind that surface is supposed to be impulse engines?

EDIT:

Some suggestions

Added "Prometheus"-esque impulse engines to the saucer, extended the flat surface forward, and gave the back-end a few windows (Observation Lounge possibly?!?)

Or if you want to keep the engines there, maybe something like this?

I had more what vortex had in mind. I like the impulse engines where they are.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Definitely add a bridge.

Looking much more balanced now.

Great work Baz!

From the size of the bridge, this is going to be a larger ship than I thought. You may have got away with those cuts in the saucer after all. :p

Looks nice. How about putting a mess/rec hall where you had the front deflector?

Would be a good place to put two torp launchers too. ;)

Then, it would be the perfect Pathfinder prototype... Or pulse cannon or a bunch of sensors?

Like it so far. The bridge should be a bit bigger, thou.

Few more tweaks, I'm happy with the overall look now. Just some errors to fixed before I rework the nacelles.

I have built the front of the saucer indent and added two torp tubes. Added another deck to the bridge module. and slight reprofile of the impuse engine. and added the main delfector.

Looks like it will be about as big as the Century if not bigger.
