From In Defense of Humanity: Canadian Power Meets Doomsday

Quote
August 26, 2011
11:00:05 AM EST

Prime Minister Brian Tobin had planned this speech out for a month, knowing that it was almost certainly the most important one of his life and would change history. There was no doubts about whether it could. Canada was now formally bringing in its new territories, and Tobin also intended to make it clear the demands to the Russians. The CF's commanders didn't like giving the Russians any knowledge of what was heading their way, but the Warrior and Resurrection were on station and New Jersey was about 60 hours away, with the logistics convoy there and the PPCLI's convoy near Juneau, the Russians had to know what was coming. Radar activity had spotted Russian MiG-31s and MiG-25s flying along the Kamchatka Peninsula. The Russians knew they were coming, and the Canadians knew that they knew. There was little to gain by continuing to keep it a secret.

"Good morning to my fellow Canadians." Tobin began, with four TV cameras and numerous radio microphones in front of him. The radio signals were going out on AM, FM and Shortwave bands so that everybody in the country could hear him. "This day is a momentous one indeed, because today, we formally welcome many new people into the Dominion of Canada, many new people who have suffered for a very long time in a world which was devastated almost thirty years ago by nuclear war. These people volunteered to become our brothers and sisters, and that I know has led to many people thinking about how much things have changed. Truthfully, they have changed a lot.

I do not know, and I suspect no one does, how so much of our country was traveled here. One would wonder 'Why us?' Why is it that we were the ones who woke up one morning in a different world? I think I know why now, and that takes some explaining.

Canada has for decades been a light in the world for those less fortunate than us. The vast majority of us who traveled know somebody who is not the same race or ethnicity or has different religious beliefs as us. In the last thirty years, more than eight million people of ethnic minorities have come to Canada from places all across the world, and bringing many of their traditions and customs and ideas with them. Canadians welcomed these people and learned from them, and they learned from us. That interaction, that involvement, has changed the face of our nation. And yet, did we ever see strife? Did many Canadians ever do harm onto others? No. And that is why we traveled here. Fate has put us in defense of humanity. It has told us to answer a call. Answering that call will be the greatest challenge this nation has ever faced. But we must answer that call - because otherwise, there may be nobody else who will.

As all of you know, one of jobs of answering that call is happening now, too. As I speak to you today, over fifty vessels of the Canadian Forces Maritime Command are in the northern reaches of the Pacific Ocean, off of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands, facing a war with the surviving Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The war was not begun by us, but we will be the ones who finish it. Our demands to the USSR are simple - they will withdraw from Alaska and the Aleutian Islands, and will accept the right of the Bering Strait as an international waterway, like the Straits of Malacca or the Panama and Suez Canals. That's it. We do not demand reparations for the damage done by their attack on the HMCS Warrior or payment to the families of the six people who lost their lives on the carrier. We do however demand the assurance that this will never happen again. If those demands are met, there will be no fighting. If they are not met, war it will be.

To our new brothers - you are with us now, and we take care of our own. We always have, and you can be assured that your suffering, your problems, we will make the best of efforts to make them right, to make the sick healthy, to make the sad happy, to make life better. We expect nothing more than you to do your jobs and build your lives, just as you have always done. We promise to do the same. And if we can accomplish that, we both know that our nation will be a shining light in the world. It merely takes us to do what is right.

Canada has been given an incredible opportunity. We have been given an incredible opportunity.

Let us not waste it. Good day, and God bless us all."
Calvin grows up to be Frazz. The logical continuation of this is, of course, that Frazz then grows up to be Edward Norton's character from Fight Club. And thus, all four of these characters are gods.Let's go one more step. Calvin grows up to be Jeremy, who grows up to be Frazz, who grows up to be "Tyler Durden," while Suzie grows up to be Haruhi Suzumiya; since Kyon becomes The Doctor, this leads to the inescapable conclusion that after the end of Fight Club, Calvin becomes Captain Jack.

Here's something hilarious about the Canadian CF-35 purchase. Canada intends to buy 65 F-35s for a price of $16 billion dollars. For that same price they could've bought:

514 F-15E Strike Eagles
421 F-14D Tomcats
375 F-117 Nighthawks
290 F/A-18E/F Super Hornets
194 Dassault Rafale Cs
176 Dassault Rafale Ms
160 F-15SE Silent Eagles
127 Eurofighter Typhoons
124 F-14E Super Tomcats
106 F-22 Raptors

And all of these aircraft can still communicate with bases, ships, submarines, and troops in the Arctic.

well lets see two of those options are retired and no longer being built/maintained... and 2 others are in the process of being phased out. XD

F-35 is a neat little supersonic harrier replacement.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.
