MV ship seperate

Hi again, another day, another problem.

I'm trying to add the saucer seperation to my refit connie.

I have followed DJ's galaxy as a template but I think I've missed something.

I have 3 Nif files (whole ship, Saucer and drive sections)

I have edited the names from the galaxy to my refit and subparts.

Have plugins for all parts and ship and harpoint py's

Game loads ok. Saucer and stardrive appear as seperate ships in fed menu and the MV option is greyed out if you start off with the whole ship. I notice on the galaxy the sections are in a submenu under the whole ship.

Any ideas?

I think you missed a file in the MVAM folder and a line in the custom ship files....

EDIT: ok you posted them...
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

You called the ship "bcrfit" in the ship plugin but "bcrefit" in the MVAM file.

OK that enable me to select the option to seperate the saucer but crashed straight after.

I have attached the PY's that got me this far.

Whole ship is named bcrefit.nif
Saucer is bcrefitprime.nif
Engineering is bcrefit2nd.nif.

Ship and HP's named the same.

I will get a console report later when I get home.

Thank you very much the ship now splits and redocks without crashing. I have to tweak the alingment since the script was writen for a galaxy class.

Ok I have this almost done.

I have the ship split and rejoin.

The cut scenes work good and aligned.

Last problem is the HP's

for tests I have the main ships HP's assigned to the saucer and drive sections, just renamed them. That worked great with the exception I don't want the saucer phasers to work on the drive section and I don't want warp drive on the saucer.

I have gone back into Max and set the piviot to each parts centre so the turn properly.

So I loaded each nif in HPE with the correct HP and deleted the parts not need for that model, and resaved.

Now when I try to seperate the game crashes to desktop.

Any ideas?

alright I think any ship/station needs a power plant sooo rename the warp drive (and move it to the saucer) just don't give it the engines... also did you set anything to critical??

also again I think with sep ships you can't have normal torps without it causing issues... with reloading and torp number when ever you sep. (pulse torps are fine)

Do both HPs still have a repair system and a ship property (the part that says Sovereign, Enterprise etc.)?
