I'm tempted to take the Excalibur (one of the biggest, nastiest-punching ships I've seen so far) against this and see how I do. Then again, considering how powerful V'Ger was, don't be surprised if there's nothin' but pieces left of my ship. *laughs*

i LOLed when I saw this pop up in DL's.  TMP is the movie I fell in love with trek to.  never did get to see the main part of v'ger, just the cloud (talk about scenery porn).

just a quickie question.  did you ever hear Gene's joke that the planet that v'ger ran into, and got reprogrammed by, was the Borg Homeworld?

how big is the ship ingame?

At first it was 1 to 1 scale, but BC just crashed. so I reduced the size by a factor of 10

Okay, after attempting to take it on with Excalibur, I realized something: This thing is WAY too damned big! And using it to fight against the big Federation ship - man, I tore it apart, lol...

It is impressive. Its hard to tell if its moving or not when you go at speed 9 while using it.

For a ship so massive (its bigger then that galactic perspective after pressing 'M' on the keyboard, lol), it loaded very fast.

Its not without its bugs though.

For one thing, the torpedoes are just yellow squares with no sound. And another problem is it tends to fly backwards.

I couldn't detect it well enough with my sensors on full (I was using a XI Kelvin at this time) as even with my sensors on full, and being 180+ kms away from it, it still showed up as 'unknown' on the sensors so I was unable to use Shift+K to knock out its engines so that I could fly into it. I'll try with a TNG or NEM era type ship next time as it is most likely just the sensor range that is low on TOS/XI type ships.

Don't try going to warp in V'Ger though, lol. Because of its sheer size, you'll be waiting literatly ages just for the pre-warp cutscene to end.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I should point out Wiley's XI Kelvin has rather rubbishey sensors (no offense Wiley! :P).

Baz, I'd recommend doing an update. You need to include the torp textures, sound wav's and sound plugins so the torps work right.

Very nice, im speechless in awe of its sheer size. I altered its HP to extend its firing range to over 1000km, and now it pummels every ship i take against it before i even get close, Great Job!!
