yet another sleepless night ahead. Oh yeah, I did fly the NX Corinium pretty close to Excalibur-class.. closer.. closer.. even closer.. then I finally took a look from the outside, and let's just say that Corinium was like flea next to an elephant..  :eek but now, I have the next version under testing, let's see how she does.  :evil come out, little Romulans, where ever you are.. I have a warm surprise for you..  :funny

one question, dou you want the corinium to have little color on the hull? at the moment its just black/brown sovy armor style plating. but i could make something similar to the contribution, but in this case less saturated.

it would be nice to have some more color than the usual monochrome tones.   :)

After first test run, I have to say that the full-size ship is just as awesome as the smaller engineering test bed. She is fast ( not ridiculously fast in terms of acceleration like the NX version, which puts Defiant class in shame), but bit more graceful, as if she feels her weight and size. my first opponent was a single Ael'Hatham class warbird, and when I had stopped fiddling with shields and such, I raised my eyes, just to witness how Romulan ship turned into a huge ball of fire. it certainly didn't take longer than 30 seconds, and I was bit baffled since I hadn't noticed what had happened. So, I moved on, to DS9 to see if the 9th fleet needed assistance. Well, they indeed did need help, and that's when I realized what I had missed in the first skirmish. This ship has PULSE WEAPONS! :dance :dance :dance No wonder that Romulan ( and Dominion ships) were vaporized in record time.

NBow, I think there are couple neutral zones and demilitarized zones that could be claimed for the glory of UFP..  :evil *cough* of course, we could use peaceful negotiations with certain incentives..  :angel

I love this ship, and she get's 9.5/10 from me, mostly because I noticed that both battery and main power were draining rapidly. Is this because of Ablative Armor or is the shield causing the drain? I noticed that when I recharged the shield and they went offline, the power was recharging reasonably fast, and I haven't installed core power transfer mod yet, since I'm worried that it might FUBAR my current large-ish install. But if the drain is unavoidable, I can live with it. I guess I have to make a run through Delta Quadrant and say hi to The Borg Collective in order to find the limits of this ship.

all in all, this ship is..

Liones: Every time you posts something on here about the testing and your advenchers it buts a big smile on my face. Almost like as im reading i can feel your excitement.

I have a habit of decorating the tests a bit. then again, I used to write fanfics, one reached over 60 Open office text pages if memory serves..  :funny I've been considering about making a Bridge Commander fanfic.. after all, screenshots could provide a nice backup for the story itself..  :hide

hi all i had a go with the new Corinium (the bigger version) and after talking to bankrupt he sujested i tell post my experience. (its a bit lionus style)

The USS Corinium whilst en route to Deep space 3 came under attack by the Borg. A sphere intercepted the vessel and attacked. The Uss Corinium withstood the first barrage of fire her shields taking a punishment but protecting her well. Then turning she brought her impressive pulse cannons to bear and raked the sphere. Tactical reported the enemy shields were weakened and so the order was given to turn and attack again, all the while her phaser arrays struck at the Borg ship.
The Borg, were able to evade the Corinium being more manoeuvrable than the massive star fleet ship.
Helm initiated a brief in-system warp and turned to re-engage the enemy and with broadside pulse cannons and then the fore mounted ones cannoning into the sphere it was in only moments the Borg were destroyed.
The Corinium was only slightly damaged on the front starboard edge of the saucer, sparks releasing from the damaged hull till engineering began repairs.
Reporting to starfleet she awaits further orders while patrolling the sector, sensors scanning for more Borg signatures.

JTK: if i had one wish it would to have an old style colour scheme... as in the old bluey-white... but i must say your textures are awsome and as with bankrupt i say happy to see her and happy with her :) thank you

blue-white works better in TMP era ships, don't you think? So, perhaps something darker.. not dominion war refit-like, but strong colors instead of the usually pale TNG schemes.

yes but as with all my ships they start life as "explorer" and i feel bluey-white is less threatening.... and its what i like lol

Don't forget couple gazillion warning stickers, such as Picard Addition: "This ship is NOT meant for ramming. In case of Klingon or Reman ship on a ramming course, Evasion is a recommended method to avoid the loss of entire ship."  :funny I found out that one the hard way.. fighting two Klingon ships, other one of them decided to ram me. I guess it was a good day to die on a Holodeck.  :D

hi bank rupt thanks for the test 2....

you know, I'm thinking the NX Corinium more as a heavy drone ship/fighter. Remove the windows and give it bit more battle oriented appearance and make her launchable via shuttle launch framework and voil?: a single droneship that turns even the toughest Romulan or Klingon ship into a cloud of debris.

Funny  :funny. I'll have to look in to the size. Park the nx next to a sovy. If there the same size then it should be fine but if not i'll adjust the nif size. Could have srunk during the import? export phase.

If you do have to resize, we are going to need to tweak the HP, bexause weapons will Not be in same place, nor systems. I sure hope you dont , but if you do, so be it.
