Ship isn't destroyed when hull is gone.
« on: September 22, 2009, 05:07:33 PM »
A few of the ships I have are not destroyed when the hull is at 0%. If I
manually select and target the hull property under the sub-menu button,
I can eventually destroy the ship.

You can set the hull to non-critical in MPE, but this is not the case here.
I don't have any hp to attach, will try to upload one later.

Maybe I got something wrong, but when you can select the Hull from the ship's dropdownlist, the Subsystem is still there.
Maybe a torpedo hit with a huge damageRadius is the Reason?

usually this is caused by multiple Hull properties being set as primary.  Go though the HP and look for any Shuttlebay, or Bridge subsystems, or anything else that uses a hull property, and make sure that only the one called "Hull" is set as Primary.  the others can still be critical and targetable, but only one can be primary.

no it needs to be set to critical...doesnt matter if its primary...primary just makes it be selected first if there are multiple properties of the same type.

He sait the hull is set to critical. And Aces is right (forgot about that), when you have several Shuttlebays and Shuttlebay - Hullpropertys set to primary BC will set the "overall Hull strength" to the sum of all of those Hull property strenghs. Meaning even if the Property called hull is destroyd there are still "Shuttlebay 1" ,2,3 etc. which will make up the hull strengh
(hop that makes sense, I shouldn't post that late)

No, that does make sense. In fact, I did indeed create several shuttle bay hardpoints on several of the suspect ships. I will take a look and ensure that the primary tab is unselected.
By the way, its really nice to have 3 working shuttlebays on a Galaxy Class :)

Ships in BC can be "tweaked" on how fast the hull shows burns or holes, obviously they are set too low (atleast for the holes).
Take a look in the ship file (that is, the file under scripts/Ships/). One of the parameters for AddLOD has to be tweaked (comments above should show which one, for usually 3 lines).
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...
