New Sabre class updated USS FERRUS
« on: November 20, 2009, 06:04:58 AM »
HI i thought about re doing the sabre so here it is still abit of work to be done.
The new class name it Ferrus (latin for horse shoe) ie the USS FERRUS and USS SABRE-A, will be two of the ships
please give me feed back on the design. From the design of the ship you can see it been built around the sov design line
so please let me know what you think.

The overall design is nice.  Only problem I have is with the bussards.  It looks as though they have no forward line of sight

Hm...to my knowledge there is only a word called "ferrum" and it has different meanings: One is iron and multiple others describe weapons (eg. a sword or dagger). Anyway, that's a nice design...

Gdata - it could also be said as Ferrous, but this is probably named after someone.

Ooo, I like that design a lot.  But I agree with F9thCenturus, you need to move the bussard collectors so they have a forward line of sight.

model is not finished yet, still alittle bit of work to be done but heres some screen shots of the redone ship so the bussard collectors have a forward line of sight

is that torpedo pod meant to be integrated like that? if it would be on top of a small pylon, it would make room for sensor pod variant.. unless you intend this to be single role ship.

ok that's much MUCH better :D
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

very nice :) very nice indeed

if you dont mind me saying: for me the pod needs re working , like you said, to better match the rest of the ship. also i'd say the nacelles need maybe narrowing to give them more definition.

but despite these points i say AWESOME

ya know, I just got an idea for that pod.

why not have it in the shape of a Frog, carrying over the horsey theme?
