overlapping objects on maps?
« on: November 25, 2009, 03:29:53 AM »

part of the Astrometrics set I was working on until I figure out static objects can't be overlapped so no flying through rings  :( ,  now the question is can it be done with script of some sort?

Wouldn't it be a bit dangerous flying through the rings anyhow? All those little chunks of rock and ice would prove hazardous to a ship hull.

BC does not work like that. If you hit anything with your shields up, you still take hull damage.

My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me."

yeah I figured as much .I tried to make the rings and the planet as separate objects but that didn't work out to well ,  in any case the planet is so large  close ups aren't that important as the geometry and textures  ruin the illusion of  scale. I'll plant some warning buoys or something. It's that or fly into invisible walls.
