December 16, 1811 - one of the strongest earthquakes in U.S. history hit the region around New Madrid, Missouri. Church bells rang as far away as Washington, D.C.

Got back to my car this morning after work, -7oC. I don't think I've ever seen it get this cold in this part of the country before.

Mind you, it's reaching -30oC in other parts of Europe, so I don't think we can really complain.

This winter has been abnormally warm for AZ.  For the last month it's been around the high 60s - low 70s during the day.  Nights are still kind of brutal (by desert rat standards that is  :P ; low 40s).  Last winter was hell - high 20s - low 30s at night and mostly around the 50s during the day.

After a non-existent winter here in Central Ohio, spring spawned spectacularly today! It's 80 degrees and already has that heavy, humid feeling Ohio summers have.

:biatch:

As nice as the blue sky is, I hate humidity. It gives me the creeps.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

It's 81 degree's here in Arizona and I'm loving it.  This year's allergy season has been brutal here though.

Ohio is the worst kind of everything - arid except for April, bitterly cold and windy all winter (usually) cause it's so flat but never any snow, and summers that just make you want to melt into a puddle everytime you step out of the AC. My family all live in Hartford (I'm a transplanted Nutmegger  :P) and it gets pretty hot in the cities especially in New England, but Ohio - wow - I can't even imagine what Georgia or something is like.

It's 81 degree's here in Arizona and I'm loving it.  This year's allergy season has been brutal here though.

That's the worst - allergies just suck.

March 2012 goes down on record as being the warmest March ever for the US, with a period of record going back to the late 1800s...
15000 record highs broken...
hundreds were all-time March record highs...
21 of them were night-time temperatures that broke the daytime high temp record...
the average temp for the US day and night topped the 20th century March average by 9 degrees...  thats the second largest monthly departure from average on record, behind January 2006...
the first 3 months of 2012 are the warmest on record so far...
