Darkthunder; actually, Joshmaul is right. in residential neighborhoods and small towns, a hefty snowfall means you WILL be plowed in, take damage to your car if you were foolish enough to park in the street, or have your mailbox destroyed by over-enthusiastic guys clearing ditches. and in my experience, the Interstate/motorways get plowed first over everything else. 5 AM after a snowfall can be a hazardous driving experience on back roads.
as for southern folk panicking at one inch of snow? that's because, from my experience down here in Virginia Beach; everyone's on summer tires or dub rims and cops give you
slowing tickets as well as speeding tickets. plus, a lot of bad weather tires are illegal to sell
