Here are a few belated mods which should have came out at xmas, but was unable to due to being busy. So here's an opportunity for a few of you here on BCC to give them a thorough test.

First we have a brand new textures for a hybrid JLS/p81/SNS Akira. Its had new details added to it and smoothing errors fixed. It's also got a different hp so again that will need testing to make sure it's balanced etc

Around 4 testers for the Akira should enough ;) Pm if you want to.

Next up is a brand new star system fully compatible with GC 2.0... Its the Utopia Planitia Shipyards.

The new bases should hopefully be fully dockable once I figure out how to do that. There are around 19 drydocks with various ships in drydock at different stages of being built. Some models are made by Mark, cinqnic, WileyCoyote and limey :D We've also included a brand new workbee which was in desperate need of a new look and if you fly around the system there are 15 of them floating around ;)

It's a joint effort also between Mark from ST Excalibur and JL Studios, bringing a new Mckinley Drydock. Made by Mark and textured by me, it looks pretty damn good :D

Enjoy

My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me."

Don't ask him about the model. All he did was retexture it. :)

Why in the hell would something from the end of the 24rd Century only have 3 phaser arrays?! It was designed and built around the height of the Borg threat, so why would they make it lighter equipped than a Galaxy, something conceived at the height of peace and who's main purpose was exploration.

Indeed it is supposed to, but having the phasers on the back pylons and nacelles makes better game play.

Thanks for everyone who pm'ed me... The people who did i'll pm you the link to the beta once i upload it

IMO it is a torp boat the ship is meant to have escorts in large fleet actions...
It has 11 fore 2 port and 2 starboard torp tubes... and 3 phaser arrays.
(this was even backed up by the designer of the ship)
the HP in KM 1.1 will always reflect this.

but that's getting way off topic of this thread lol....
Nice work btw JB06 :D
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

There's no way the Akira has 11 forward torpedoes.  She has 4, maybe 7 in the weapons pod if you count the three bottom ports as launchers, and then one just above the deflector.  And if you count the ports in the pod, there are at least 4 if not 6 aft launchers.  That's logic.

Either way, that is a very pretty retexture.  We need a new model though...

yes it does :P

the deisgner even said so also quoted above...

it has 4 on the forward to ring of the saucer, 3 static tubes under that... above the deflector a burst fire launcher that can fire 4 (see First contact) and UNDER the deflector another one, the 2 side launcghers are located in those little dents in the saucer and the 4 aft are located in the pod...

It is the same as onthis picture http://starbasetrinity.com/voyager_drydock.jpg It must be a spare component, or office section on the drydock, or a place to take a break for the construction workers.

The only problem I see with the JLS one is that there's still a great big light bulb right behind it.

OOhh, i get it, but Jb's looks better. And from this angle it doesn't look attacked. I thought it was a pieces of hull or a component waiting to be attached somewhere.
