Sweeet.  These here are taken from the Blu-ray so they're pretty good quality.  I can take pics of the Protector also if you need any of them :)

That is what Galaxy Quest looks like on Blu-ray?!? I never gave that film enough credit and I immediately regret it. :(

I like the look of that NSEA Protector so far. Nice job. I wish I had come into this thread when you said you were going to make Spaceball 1. I could have got some screen grabs from the DVD for you. Shame it's been shelved.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

*bops Lionus* hush, you.

I pity anybody that would even ATTEMPT Serris's cruiser.  even wiley couldn't pull that one off easily.

Shadowknight's right.  there is a protector on BC files, but it's pretty bad.  I've allready got a "fed skin" for the thing that I can put out ("reskins welcome" is right in the readme).

don't forget the MVAM. the only thing that sucks is we didn't really get to SEE the Protector actually fire its weapons.  there's enough information on the movie if someone would DARE attempt the bridge, though.  only other thing that would make the ultimate affectionate parody complete is if someone attempted the Thermian's sliver planet starbase. :P

Me: mine [my bridges] would probably be simple to get the characters to use.  the only person that sits is the captian.
Baz: space is vast there[sic] legs will be tired by the time they get to the next planet

I have the movie on tape, but no way to take a cap (someone's requested an obscure series I have on tape, so I'm looking at video to USB boxes).  someone with a DVD should snap it.  it may take a couple caps, though.

http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=9640 has both the 6 inch and 12 foot studio models.  note the 6 incher has an entirely different name and registry on it.

Yes, please do and take loads of pictures not just 4 or 5(any scene showing both ships) and upload them to your photobucket account or a large zip file instead of posting them here.

No problem, I'll start taking pics of both ships and maybe even the Starbase if you want and load them in a Zip file for you :)

too bad you couldn't use a mini atmosphere effect on the Thermian starbase.  it IS a sliver of their homeworld, after all, and the very top of the thing had a drop of atmosphere and ocean on it :P

That is actually the Galaxy Quest equivilent of a bussard collector. The engines are the small pods on the back of the wings.

imagine the LCARS cutaway for the poor thing.  bussard on one end, warp coils on the other, and a hell of a lot of piping between between those and the Beryllium Core.  'course, in GQ's universe, they probably created the ship's ideas on the fly.  consider the killer devices just to get to the self destruct shutoff...

You mean the 13 seconds Omega 13 device? How would that work in BC?

Perhaps a (sort of) self-destruct mod?  After all, in QB when you get destroyed it resets you and restores your ship.  Similar to the Omega 13 . . . sort of . . .  :P

Or perhaps the Omega 13 has a second setting, where it destroys all hardware in the immediate vicinity?  Sort of like a doomsday weapon.  Would keep you from destroying everything to preserve your fleet, but would also destroy you if used.  You would get reset, but nothing would be left of either your fleet or the enemy fleet.

I've always wanted the Omega 13 device to work in a way similar to how Samantha Carters altered Asgard time dialation device worked in the final episode of Stargate SG-1 or similar to how the Doctor used the Pandorica to stabilize the TARDIS explosion in the recent final episode of this years Doctor Who. Not sure why. :p

right...how would you work a script in that could back up time 13 seconds :P  remember, even the CAST didn't know what it did 'cause no-one specified it in the script :P

only thing to do now...get someone to make the GQ uniform mods :P  so, who gets stuck with "tawney Madison" 's boobage?  :angel

Well, my vote goes for Saffi.  The [female dog] needs something to take the damn edges off of her personality!  If I hear "Captain, we should not fire on friendly vessels" one more time, I'm gonna throw her out the frakkin airlock. :banghead:  Besides, she seems to serve the same function as Tawney: she just says whatever the computer would say . . . :roll
