CG Sovvie Damage
« on: April 19, 2010, 06:03:34 PM »
Hey guys,

Is it just me or does everyone have issues with the Sovvie when she gets damaged? Like if she takes a heavy hit she almost disappears, textures disappear and the ship looks paper thin all over. Are there any ways to counter this when she gets damaged? Should I up the dmg resolution on her model because she is high poly?

Delete the VOX files in the ship folder.

Delete the VOX files in the ship folder.

... is deleting the Vox in the models folder the only way to fix this issue? Won't that mean that the ship no longer damages?

the game will generate a new vox file, so it is safe to delete it...

Ya I just realised that when I looked up the forums on BC files. People complaining of "screwy damage" had a response from CG saying that deleting the old sovvie vox files will fix the problem as the game generates new vox files in the game. Thanks alot Nero, Aces_high and Jimmy!

That was a quick fix! Much better now!

Hey Jimmy maybe you or another staff member could add this question/answer to the BC Technical FAQ? It seems to qualify considering its fairly common.

good point - i forgot about that thread lol

perhaps very soon, ill create a new thread and ask everyone out there what they think would be helpful to others for future reference, including this question...  a sort of group-project; im sure there are a number of other FAQs that could qualify :)

:funny Ought to have Sovvie write it. I'm a fan of his brand of humor.
