Starstreaks and Shields Mods Won't work when installed

I have tried everything that I know of, I have replaced the Star streaks file, I have also tried installing C2X's stars and Shields, and that won't work either.... when I go to warp with a ship in quick battle, I get the multi-colored "rainbow" type star streaks, and I hate that..... reinstalling the game would be a BIG problem since I have made many script mods of my own and I have lost track of what I did, and up till the problem of the star streaks, everything else is perfect for me, so if there is anything you can do to help, I thank you in advance

Are you using nanofx?

As a matter of fact, I am using Nano fx 2.0, what does that have to do with the star streaks and the shields not changing?

I believe nanofx changes the streaks, or I may be thinking of Galaxy Charts.

I reinstalled the game on my laptop a few months ago, however before, I had the game on my Desktop PC, it didn't have any problems with Nano FX and star streaks, and yes I believe you are referring to Galaxy charts which changes star streaks. plus there are many features on galaxy charts I don't like, therefore I don't have that installed, so you can rule that possible problem out......

The star streak textures for the non-Galaxy Charts starstreaks are controlled by NanoFX 2.0.

You must have changed the wrong file.

StarStreaks_Nano.tga is the file you need to change to have different star treaks. If you have a different texture that you want to use as starstreaks, make a copy of the file you want to install and rename it to StarStreaks_Nano.tga

Then, do a search for the original file in your Bridge Commander folder. When you have found it, replace it with the file that you have just renamed. Then you are done. You will have a new star streak texture for the non-Galaxy Charts warp effects.

thanks for the tip, unfortunately I just tried that, with no effect, it still is the same annoying starstreak, it has not changed....any other suggestions would be welcome

-Backup the StarStreaks_Nano.tga file located in Bridge Commander/scripts/Custom/NanoFXv2/WarpFX/Gfx folders.
-Unzip the new StarStreaks_Nano.tga into the Bridge Commander/scripts/Custom/NanoFXv2/WarpFX/Gfx directory.

-Backup the stars.tga file located in Bridge Commander/data folders. Unzip the new stars.tga and replace it.

as suggested in that thread, just install Galaxy Charts...
you dont have to use all the elements (or ones you dont like) while GC is installed...

@ Billz yes I know the procedure, and where I have to replace the Star streaks but it still doesn't work....

however I have just tried out what dEjavU suggested.... and now it works!!! thank you all, you have been very efficient in helping me!

now I can use the method Billz suggested and now it works.... Thank you again

It's also worth mentioning that Galaxy charts is AWESOME!
