well, since Bashir made the joke, there has to be a "Kung-Fu Panda" name in there now!

better yet, throw on an alt reg with a famous Chinese person on it.

As an Asian, I am somewhat offended, but mostly :picardfacepalm: at the repeated panda-isms. :roll

EDIT:  Let's see, just a few things left before I begin mapping it:  other phaser arrays, phaser cannons, cargo bay doors, impulse engine details, and shuttle bay rapid egress hatches.

Stardrive is about half completed.

Cookie for Bones and Farshot.  The Exeter's textures are fantastic, and that new model looks like a predecessor to MayhemUK's Courageous.  Very cool.

That's the last update today, most of the ships diffuse maps are finished, just nacelles left to finish, then I'll move to alpha channels ;)

here are some pics of secondary hull, nacelles and pylons

Not sure what I think of those bussards, the double cowling, or the connection between the pylons and the secondary hull.  I wish I had some suggestions for the collectors.  The cowling seems a bit too busy to me and for both cowlings to be the same color seems off.  As for the connection, it just seems like it should flow a little better.

These are only my opinions though, and it's still a fantastic job.

bussards are just placeholders, I'm making a different style tomorrow, yes, the connection is too rubbish ATM, I'm gonna play with textures to make a collar around the pylon so it doesn't just stick out of the random hull platings.

As for double cowling, it's meant to be like that. This way nacelles resemble JJverse stylistics.

your opinions are important to me because I might overlook some things, pointing these out to me helps me improving textures ;)

Originally, the bigger and more fore of the cowlings was of the lighter hull color, so feel free to play around with that.  Also, I'm fairly confident you'll find an excellent bussard color.

And feel free to up the resolution of the nacelles.  The panelling lines are very heavy there as opposed to a lot of other places on the ship.

One more thing that occurred to me was that there doesn't seem to be panelling on the saucer rim besides the four horizontal lines.  I think some light and subtle panelling behind the windows and those lines will really flesh out the ship.

All this being said, I think that secondary hull might be the most beautiful thing I've laid my eyes on. :dance

EDIT:  Yeah, just screwing around with the thread name.  Hmm, BS Productions?   :funny

:picardfacepalm: I guess my mind wasn't dirty enough to see that coming. :funny  Well, we could always just put the developer as FarShot - Bones - WhoeverHPsIt.  Do you have any ideas about that, by the way?  I've never used MPE or whatever it is in my life before.

This is looking awesome but... I feel the cowlings shouldn't be so uniformly dark. I think it needs more light parts.

I can make'em light just like the rest of the hull, I don't like the pattern on them anyway :P

Also, there's that Starfleet Chevron on the side of the fore cowl, and it probably doesn't show up well on dark panelling.  I'll leave the final choice up to Bones though.  One other thing though, I'm not sure if the UV map for the nacelle is reflected where the registry will go so that it's not mirrored or anything.  I'll need to check.

As for the Vendetta, I'm calling the model done, what with the addition of phaser cannons, cargo bay hatches, a warp core ejection port, and the nice pretty bridge model.  Time to UV map it and ship it off to you, Bones. ;)  Oh and did I mention the 8000-ish triangles it's made of? :D
