Starfleet Skunkworks
« on: August 23, 2010, 04:51:58 PM »
finally got over my artists block and drew my first ship. I probably will draw other views soon..

note: cam distorted the image, I will try and buy a functional scanner/printer thing soon. if you stretch the image a bit, it will look more like the real deal. comments are welcome.

Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me."

Update, more details added and slight style changes.. Nacelle has more TMP flair, and I added a small pod under rollbar which will have either a phaser array for the tactical version ( the one with weapons pod which this one has) or sensor array (science/recon version). I didn't draw any phaser arrays or RCS thrusters, sensor pallets etc since I'm not exactly sure about the ideal placements. Next, Ventral, dorsal, fore and aft views..

I think if you lose the bridge module and turn the saucer into a cabin then at those proportions you have a nice long range shuttle.

Oh my. That's actually pretty good idea. Perhaps this ship could have a couple small shuttles like that one.. hmm.. type X or XI?  :D

I'm working on it, but 86F inside my apartment isn't helping my concentration!  :(

I'm trying to do the front view, but now I'm thinking that it should be front/aft, split in the middle because I'm a lazy bastard.. opinions?

Try to use the type(class2) or type 11 as a reference point to make it, like i did with my ship( have a look in wip ship designs)

I'm still not sure if it'll be a shuttle or not. Sure, it would make a kick-ass shuttle, but I'm going to try to thin k it as a proper ship.. However, should it become a shuttle, it WILL make Delta Flyer look like powerwheels compared to a real car.

Well, it is supposed to be a Nebula-like multitasking Swiss army knife with some MacGyver-abilities.. Just smaller. But I'll try it out to see how it looks like.

This is why I gave up on my Continental Class LOL

I don't have the drafting designs of well, pretty much every Trek designer out there :P

You're not doing a bad job though!  Keep it up!
