MeteorCreations Presents: U.S.S. Gemini (Version 4.0)
« on: August 23, 2010, 05:02:13 PM »
Where there's one resurrection..there's two..

Back when I released the Archangel I had planned to release another ship along with It, and that ship was called the Gemini. I have had permission from Tooie since then to change the Gemini how I saw fit. Some of you may remember I released some shots of It back when I was working on Archangel, and to be completely honest I forgot about It lol. But now here we are 4 years later and It pops into my head "Hey! I should finish the Gemini too!", so here Is the progress I have made on the Gemini so far.

I have used what I have done to the Sentinel as a base, but changed the layout so they do not look identical. There Is a new Deflector Dish created by Fallen Warrior originally for the Sentinel, but as I was so far In on development of the Sentinel I decided not to use It. He will possibly be contributing new Impulse Engines and Warp Nacelle Grilles as well, I will be doing the Bussard Collectors soon but I am currently working on the weapons pod. There has been some added detailing to the yacht as well that will transfer over to the Sentinel, The yacht of the Gemini will be named Mercury :funny

I think I will release these ships as a pack, I am not 100% on that yet but It's getting there lol.

Here's some shots of the progress so far, for a more detailed description of the project please visit MeteorCreations

Why do the secondary hull and the rest of the ship appear to be different brightnesses? Apart from that, looks wonderful. :)

The lighting Is what Is causing that color difference, this ship didn't come with complete speculars unfortunately so the lighting rig that I am using Is making the hull appear to be brighter than It Is.

As long as the bussards all have textures like they're supposed to, i'm definitely onboard.

Sort of reminds me of where I was going with the Nemesis-class, except the secondary hull wasn't split, and where you have the nacelles is where I put Pulse phasers, ala like a Klingon ship, and the nacelle were up top.

If I could make a suggestion please....The torpedo launchers on the bridge area look as though they wouldn't clear the sensor pod...could you post screenies of the side view??

They do clear the weapons pod, with a descent amount of room.

On the updates side, most of the hull textures are done and I'm waiting on Fallen Warrior to do the Nacelles and such, but for the moment I have came up with my own set of textures of them to test them out.

That big ol thing on the back and you can only have two openings for torpedo launchers?

and the torpedoes can be modded to split in front of the ship , it would be very cool ,but it needs a different color

hmm.. aren't those pylons cutting into the main phaser arrays on the top in front and aftside of the saucer? Also, thosse stretches in the textures look nasty.. i still love this ship though, but those are the only things i can be picky about :D
