USS INFERNO NX-84235-Open for modelers to attempt when bored.
« on: January 11, 2011, 01:36:37 PM »
an important note before you start reading, i have only drawn half the dorsal view because of 2 reasons:
1, once i (plus helpers) get this half modeled, it can be mirrored.
2, i would have seriously cocked it up if i tried to draw the other half.

anyways on with the show XD

so, this has 4 inset torp launchers in the saucer, and is inspired by Wiley's Proteus, and achilies/proteus hybrid.

image attached.

Some bits look good, but there is too much blue grilles on the nacelles. Any other views?

not ATM, besides the grilles are more spread out, just looks a bit overdone because i havent drawn the other views yet.

When you are nearly done with the other views, keep in mind the number of decks the ship has, because right now, yours looks lie a heavily weaponized Nova-class ship.

i can say its around the same size as the proteus, give or take 2-5 decks, but yeah, i redesigned this as a possible sister class for the proteus or a step up from the nova class.

I'm just saying that my Proteus-ship family could easily be smaller than the Enterprise-E.

after talking to flare~ on messenger i thought of this

the inner nacelle extends for warp flight and retracts for combat or impulse manoeuvres

or

the inner nacelle extends for greater warp efficiency or enhanced speeds

just an idea  :D

thats a pretty nifty idea, though the nacells are defaultly the length i said, and the vent on top is a preventure of engine overheat*flashback of first test flight, shudders*) but the extend idea is pretty awsome XD

ok so after staring at my ent-e model for an hour, doing alot of doodling, and having a hard think, ive decided to make the inferno as lnog and as wide as ENT-E but its only going to have 29 decks.

im currently working on a side view, though i hate side views because i always muck those up....

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

does it have to be finished or just a reasonable start on it?

as i explained in the PM, once the project gets into the modeling phase and becomes an actual WIP mod for BC, then the thread can be moved or a new one made...
BC Modding forum isnt for drawings and other art work, which is what the project is at this current phase...

ok guys, being as ive changed something, this ship will looklike a nova class from the side except the nacells are in line with the saucer and it has a deflector band and no secondary deflector, and the nacells are to how ive drawn them.
if anyone wants to have a go please lemme know, as imgoing to attempt her, she also looks like the nova from the front, just with the changes ive made.
