Wow! The ship really does look like something out of a trek movie..of the current federation timeline. Maybe starfleet was able to implament unexpected improvements for allot of her systems derived from researched technologies the u.s.s. voyager brought back from the delta quadrant :P just curious DJ have you decided on a class name for her yet? If not might I suggest the name genova class :D I don't know..when I look at this ship the name genova pops in my head  :idk: anyways remarkable job on her so far DJ(she looks very starfleet).

Googling "Genova", I find the Italien city, which is also spelled as "Genua". Is that what you were referring to dEjavU ?

if your refering to the Italian city, it IS spelled with a G.

that just makes me think one of the ships will be named USS Santa Maria and captianed by a descendant of Columbus :P

My apologies Jimmy for posting when said not to(I really don't mean to dis your authority..this won't happen again)just thought I'd let the guys know that the name isn't for any particular meaning or reference..it's just the way how it sounds incontingent with the way how the ship appears when I'm looking at it.   ;)

Hey guys, I'm back and working on the Swift.  I guess I'll have to try a ship in a day challenge some other time.  Maybe later we could organize a little competition among some of us for fun?

Anyhow, I think way back someone suggested that the ship might look good with a pod, so that's what I've added in addition to doing some additions and changes to the textures.  I tried to give the pod an aesthetic cross between the Miranda and Nebula classes.  I'll probably still add some details.

Good to see you back DJ.

Looks good. Curious: what are your intentions for the purpose/function of this pod?

The ship itself looks good and somehow sleek but the design of the pod ruins it.

It looks like the voyager aeroshuttle on it... If you want a pod, try make one like the nebula triangle pod but way sharper and sleeker.

Just an opinion ;)

there could be more than one pod. This could be the explorer version, and the sleeker nebula weapons pod mentioned above could be the military version. Either way, one of the voyager concepts had one of these dorsal mounted pods and looked fine. Though I would think you'd have saved a copy with no pod that could be released along with the pod version and make everyone happy lol. Pod or no pod I like the ship so I don't care  :funny
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

I agree with a triangle pod, it would be much more fitting. Still fantastic design cant wait to fly her.

The pod looks awesome, I bet this one could separate into a small Defiant-like ship to support mother ship with torpedo fire ;)

It does look like it should be a small ship on its own, doesn't it?

Looks absolutely wonderful, although the 'wings' on the pod don't seem to flow all that smoothly. It looks almost like it's streamlined to do good reversing. :P But it is really great. :)

IMO the pod ruins the design, but hey you may have other intentions on the pods use and positioning on the ship as of yet, how am i supposed to know that?

DJ.... I think the pod could work but I think having at least 2 points of contact would look better and would flow with the body design more... Other then that great work and have a cookie!

,,,,,,,,The pod connector idea is great. I agree it would look very nice with pod attachments. Do something in line with how you did the Holland for example. ,,,,,,

To quote myself  :P, I still think that would be a good way to go with her.

To me it looks great, though it does look like a small attack or support ship. It would look much more like a pod if you exchange the size ratio on both sections so the middle is smaller and the sides are bigger. Also maybe stretch the front of the side sections to connect at the tip of the pod center front section, if that makes any sense.

Awesome work as always.

i want... to.. model the second one.... but has no damn time.... grrr...

GLAD AS HELL to see you back in action DJ.

however, i LIKE the pod idea... just not how its sitting... can you skew it aft and ventral some to sit closer to the body? MAYBE that would change the "feel" of it.
I came, i saw, i added a Sig.
Later gents, i have Youtube to take over.
