I want to get the rest of the christmas releases out. However, for some reason one of the 3 ships I released just before midnight (wanted to get something out while it was still 2011) had a bad hp, probably caused by the mpe recompiler. Anyways, to get the rest of them out faster I need someone that can do decent screenshots to take these babies for a testdrive. That includes the 3 I've already released. I want to get them all out in the next 2 days.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

I've already downloaded two of the three you put up.  and, yes, there was a hardpoint error on the first one, an extra property line (the Silicon Valley). I also talked to mackie last night.  he wants his kitbashing credit.  they worked just fine once some minor glitches and stuff were fixed (like making a plugin.  really, no plugin in this day and age?)

Killa: already done some texture patching, there for myself.  note that none of these ships has lit plasma vents.  take a look, the impulse crystal and main impulse vents for the Sortavala are not lit  everything else looks correct with the texture, though.

hey, starforce, didn't you say you'd had problems with stuff getting corrupted a bit?

Edit: King and killa, You are both on my msn, king I added you to msn as well. Or you can email starforce2@gmail.com and I can send you the ships. I am going to start preparing the rest. Any other testers can reply here or pm with emails. I can split them up so one person aint doing it all.

well, it is possible I didn't get the right lightmap on one of the textures, when converting tons of textures it is possible one got it's alpha channel missed. I may need to pull these guys down.

Even a bit buggy, I wanted to release something. Normally I don't like releasing defective stuff because I am anal about that, and have been outspoken myself about modders who just release junk with seemingly no care for quality but I wanted to get something out for christmas.

As for mackies credit...the original readme's were included, and also copy and pasted into my readme, where I added myself to the credits. Did mackie not add himself to the readme? I didn't proofread the original readme's. I just included them in the model folder as required by FoaS and WZ's usage policy. Either way, since they need to be pulled for fixes anyways, I will go through and recheck all the documentation, as anyone who helps fix glows will need to be added to the readme's for their contributions as well.

As for the glows, if someone would like to help fix glows, texture work is something I really know nothing about, I am a hardpointer.

Additionally, while on this subject, if anyone is skilled enough in texturing, I do have some older ships that have partial sets of the new gafy style white smooth textures for excels and other tmp, and some older early P81 texures from the days of SFC1 that never had gafy vertions made. Some of these can be reused on multiple ships cutting down the work. there are a handfull of such ships that are otherwise cool looking and somewhere I have a lexington class that gafy never finished the nacelle textures on that, if it were finished, could also be released. Once I get the current issues fixed on the roughly dozen tmp ships I wanted to release for christmas I'd like to get those next, along with something Cent gave me last year and the suezs.

Oh and the silicon valley class, it's not an extra property line at the bottom, the last 5 characters from the property line for the final rear phaser property got cut off. It didn't even load in the mpe. That's a Tactical icon editor bug. It's struck before, I've just always caught it because I usually don't do icons as the dead last item, so they end up going back in the mpe in most cases catching the issue.

I went over the Sortavala's nif, now that I have some very minor experience with them.  the ship was missing it's glow on the actuall model. one thing you admit you have no skill with, and is most definetly out of your area of expertese.

we have two remaining experienced moddelers, here. Baz and Wiley.  and Baz is a "figure it out yourself" type.  I've accepted that.

Sometimes you can just add the _glow.tga extension.

As far as I know i didn't miss any of that (supposedly it's case sensative) so I suppose A quick look to make sure that isn't the issue is in order, but I can at;least look at the tex in photoshop to see if there's atualy glow there in the first place. But editing the textures themselves...I've never know how to do a lightmap correctly.

The one thing I never understood with the Gafy textures was the over-contrasted coloring with the red-orange bussards and swirly deflector textures.

The yellow is FoaS personal preference. He wanted to do something different. However, if you are interested in helping shnazz up the unfinished vessels, I'd be more than happy to send one over to ya.

The last time I said yes for texturing someone's mesh, I never got around to finishing it. Which reminds me...

no, Starforce, you didn't miss anything.  you actually OVERincluded a little.

Tiq no, i said the MODEL's busted, not the skin. did the same with my ship; forgot to tell the pieces they could glow.

I actually kifed a couple of the swirly plasma ideas for myself after first seeing them. found my own take on em, though

if you mean adding glows to actual textures?  yes, everything but registry spots (i'm having trouble doing those, because i don't have (and can't afford) Photoshop), but on the models, themselves?  unfortunately, no.  I can't get baz to explain where I screwed up and how.
