Canon: Official information, from official sources (For Trek, that generally means Episodes and Movies)
Cannon: Type of weapon most commonly used during the 18th and 19th Century (Also found on 24th Century escort ships)

She looks good. I will reserve judgment on the deflector till I see her skined.
You know it's going to look good.

There are two levels of canon in Trek, Roddenberry-based, which includes the tv and movie productions, and CBS-endorsed canon, which includes all video games, novels, and the like.  Obviously Roddenberry-based is generally viewed as the only legitimate canon by the general fanbase.  The canonocity of CBS-endorsed content is still dubious and debatable, so it's probably best to call it all semi-canon.

Also of note is the fact that Star Wars has like half a dozen levels of canon.  This ranges from the movies, called G-canon (George Lucas), down to N-canon, which is basically non-canon.  The point of having a non-canon level of canonocity is that sometime in the future it may be made canon.  For example, the character Aayla Secura was originally comic canon, but everyone liked the idea (and the fact that she was hot) so they made her canon.  Not only that, but G-canon, the highest level.

Actually Aayla Secura wasn't fanon she was in a Expanded Universe Comic book and GL just happened to like her.
A better example would bt the 501st Legion, Its a international Fan group, who do charities and stuff, the name of the group was made Novel Canon then made into G-Canon with Revenge of the Sith.

But this isn't that thread for this.

I consider the Odyssey the Canon Ent-F, but DJ's Century is my favorite non CBS-Canon Ent-F.

Comics do exist in the realm of lower canon, considering the fact that most come into some form of conflict with G-level (comic adaptations of the films, etc.)  Though you are right, Aayla Secura wasn't the best example.  I agree that the 501st is a much better one.

But yeah, I prefer to not label non-TV/non-movie stuff as being more canon than the next.

I originally hated the Odyssey Class choice for the Enterprise-F in STO until I actually got my hands on one.  Now it has since grown on me and the way I have her configured she's pretty sweet. However if the Century Class ever made it into STO I would gladly dump the Odyssey for her in a heartbeat.  Looking fantastic and I'm curious to see what new original textures you come up with.  Something more Sovereign-ish perhaps, or something completely original?

Glad you guys like the way it's shaping up.  Since the deflector seems to be controversial, I did a little work to it.  Trying to keep the same feel while being maybe a touch more conventional.

I think with the deflector, the reason behind the unease is it's pretty three-dimensional, with the large extrusions and such.  Personally, my favorite deflectors have probably those of the JJ Enterprise, the Constitution Refit, the Excelsior, and the Galaxy.  So yeah, I suppose it would be unfamiliarity in that sense.  Maybe it's a bit too new.

It maybe one of these things where it will look better when textured.

I still miss the old deflector, it helped tie the ship in with the Juno, Raptor and Vivace.

I like the deflector a lot.  The torpedo tubes underneath don't seem to flow naturally with the design of the ship though.  I think some kind of a tandom setup would look cool.  When I get home from work, I'll see if I can come up with something on max with an idea that I have.

Since this re-look is inspired by STO then If you wanted to you could always make two or three Century Class variants.  STO allows you to mix and match variant pieces to create your own unique ship so if there was any chance you might be able to sell your design to them, it could help if you provided variants as well.  Just an idea I was thinking about since people liked one deflector over the other this would allow both to be used as different variants.

I'm liking the deflector even more now. I too would like to see it textured to see how that will make it look.

Still think the rear parts of the nacelles are too skinny though.

Loved the original version, Love this version too. Looks like she has been working out, a beefier version if you will.

Textures are going to add alot to the design, so there is no sense in critiquing the deflector. The engines I agree should be a bit wider aft.

Some of the designs on STO are nice, and some are  awful to say the least.  Would love to see the work you guys do here. Would be wise of them to send you some offers for design work, truth is truth, I seriously mean that too.

Looking forward to your progress on this one.

Update.  Did quite a bit of work even though it doesn't look like much.

-Removed the raised paneling on the top and bottom of the saucer.  I did this to gain some flexibility with the textures.  Can't say I'm missing them.  Don't think anyone will once the textures are on.
-Narrowed the belly by about 10%
-adjusted the pylon phaser arrays
-removed one of the lower pylon vents so that there's two on each now instead of three.
-removed the connie style vent at the top of the ventral pylon
-rounded out the front area of the aft shuttlebay along the spine
-smoothed some transition areas

I tried widening the backs of the nacelles but found I really didn't like it.  I like the way they are, damn it! :funny

And here are a few shots of the ship next to the Enterprise E.
