Glad you guys like the way it's shaping up. Since the deflector seems to be controversial, I did a little work to it. Trying to keep the same feel while being maybe a touch more conventional.
I think most members know how much I dislike the double deflector that have become your trade mark DJ.
I'm usually about functionality in artistic design but it's not the functionality of the 1.0 Double deflector (although I wonder about the two lit portions dead in the middle of the "dish", The whole purpose of the dish is to be an antennae to cover more area for receiving transmission, a long range scanner as well as an beam emitter so I'm not sure about two holes in the middle of the dish) but artistically it just too simple. The ship was a remarkably well detail design but it just seemed you did not carry that detail into the deflector. If you look at Galaxy, Voyager, Defiant and Century you might see that Galaxy is one of the simplest Deflectors but it was also very 3 Dimensional and added with the glowing gradient effect conveyed an "all seeing eye" like perception. Voyagers was very detailed and like yours it had multiple dishes in one yet not as 3 dimensional as the Galaxy. Defiant was actually very detailed but simple convex lens that gave a 3D effect. That's something you have to do with a small model.
I can't imagine the end product of 2.0 but I like what I see. It's becoming more 3 Dimensional and since Century doesn't have a huge sunken deflector like Galaxy (In that the sunken aspect of Century's isn't a reinforced portion of the deflector but just hull) to add depth you're pushing the deflector out which is something I don't think we've seen before. But I think the clincher will be the deflector textures
