A Federation Warbird???
« on: March 06, 2012, 06:31:45 AM »
I have been following this site and BCFiles since I started playing BC years ago... I do not have the programs to mod, or create stuff... I have always had an idea though for a Federation Warbird... Picture taking a Galaxy class ship, rearrange the parts like a Romulan D'Deridex warbird... Saucer on top, attack pylons from saucer to nacelles, and pylons from nacelles to the engineering hull... It also would still have the ability to do Saucer seperation... Would love to hear someones input/comments....
Thanks

Not sure he was requesting KCS...more like asking for comments on the idea.  Now if he had said "Can someone make this for me" I would have understood :)

sounds interesting though i dont think starfleet or the federation are "warbird" types... look how long it took them to create the defiant "escort"

but keep your ideas coming, we love ideas around here  :D

Sorry,
I was not requesting, but I was seeking comments and maybe some other additional things that could be added to the concept...
Looking at baz1701s graphic, that is sort of what I was picturing..... Was also thinking if this ship had the saucer seperation capability, you could add the mega phaser cannon from the Galaxy X class onto both the saucer and engineering sections and would give a fight to most enemy ships.....

Let's not be too hard on him! I think it's a good idea :D
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Ive always been a fan of the Federation Oberth Class design and the Romulan D'Deridex Class designs, and now the Federation Odyssey Class from Star Trek Online, because all 3 are sort have seperated from the engineering hulls, and look sleek... I would definately add the mega phaser cannons from the Galaxy X to both hulls, would make it so it could seperate, and if you really put some thinking to the design, could be a miniature fleet carrier with some modifications to the hull contours and layout... The only thing I have trouble thinking on and visioning is what kind of pylons to use to attach to both hulls, so it would still be possible to do saucer seperation. I would only picture this concept using the Galaxy Class parts... I tried to visualize the concept using Soveriegn and newer starship designs, and I believe that the Galaxy look, would be very menacing....

okay, now that this has been cleared up as not actually being a request....

why are you people bothering with the saucer at all?  Just the e-Hulls, either horizontally or vertically would work..  there's also the idea of stretching a Miranda rollbar into Pseudo warbird wings for a TMP version.

oh, I also had a couple redeco ideas of my own to make a fed warbird.  and wasn't there a busted warbird mod at one point that got patched with some spare sov parts?

Jimmy I know which ship you were on about. A Galaxy class varient that had a deflector/sensor pod on a roll bar coming off the nacelles

Okay that's beautiful  :dance

"Beautiful" and "P81" is not something I would even consider in 2012... But then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
