Weird errors??? Hope it's Graphics related...
« on: June 03, 2012, 03:06:58 PM »
Guys,
Everytime I play BC on my laptop and select a ship (doesn't matter which ship) my ship is black and the only thing showing is the lights/alpha channels.  I'm hoping it's just graphics related, but uhm...could someone help me with this???

That looks pretty cool.  As I'm not much of a BC expert, I'm afraid that'll be my only contribution to this thread. :P

Light source?

I'll put it this way...

Very well lit

And this hasn't happened in the past (same system etc.)

There be difference brosefski.

Go to Edit mode,
click toggle placements,
and browse through the objects looking for light,
and should you happen upon one,
click edit light,
and check the numbers.

If there are no light placements... well... it's obvious.
If there are, but the numbers are zeroed, well... it's obvious as well.
Otherwise, not sure what's up.

I'll try, but would Edit mode actually delete the light source in the systems py file?

if lighting is off then yeah do it through edit() mode, you can save it also from there. If it still does it on subsequent times of playing game then go to scripts/systems/(what system you had issue with) and depending on how many planets in said system.

Highlight the system py file with a number at the end

then open that file with wordpad...and scroll down your looking for the below

more specifically your looking for these lines

them numbers hard set that light source for that system(left to right sequence is RED,GREEN,BLUE, [source brightness]) once you have changed them just save the file(tip..you can add additional light sources to be hard set this way too)...start game up and go to that system to see your changes  :)

Yeah I thought of that...but I think this is a stock system (Deep Space to be exact and not DS9).  If I can find that file I can edit it.
