Planning on doing some ships from Masao Okazaki's Starfleet Museum. Here is my first one, the Quetzlcoatl-class semidreadnought from the early 23rd Century, launched 2215:
http://www.starfleet-museum.org/quetzalcoatl.htm
-
can you list your ships tht you plan on doing pls, i love tos-pretos
-
:yay:  SWEET!!! Was hoping you'd take a crack at a few of those! Are you planning on doing the UESN ships as well? Or any of the Rom and Klingon ships?
-
nice, more muesum ships is good.
-
Whoa, creepy... I have some almost-finished Avenger, Paris and Torsk classes I've been toying with... Mesh looks very slick!
-
I just might barf...
Ugh, I never was much of a fan of these pre-TOS, pre-Ent, pre-XI fan ships.
-
Isn't that more of a personal opinion than constructive criticism? :P
-
True. It's a great model, looks clean and simple. A Kelvin-ified version would look better in my opinion, but then it wouldn't be an SFM design.
-
hm, do I smell a Daedalus in there, somewhere? i'd like to see one set up with NX or Kelvin style weapons. i had an idea for a Kelvinized Daed at one point.
-

You know it's funny that you should mention a NX style Daed King. Because the image below is my current desktop, and given Gs work on the Conestoga I think he could pull her off nicely.
Farshot Not Cool Man...G has really put a lot of work into original non-Connie TOS designs and should be given some credit for that. True some of the pre-TOS designs weren't pretty but they still make up the, non-canon albeit, history of the franchise we all care enough about to be talking about in a forum.
Anyways, here's the picture of the Daed.
-
Farshot - that's ok, I'll ask the cabin cleaning crew to stock some extra barf bags on board for you just in case.
Villain - I am planning to do the Avenger, Predator and Paris-classes as well.
DMWalsh79 - That Daedalus reminds me of the Icarus-class I did, but I would like to take a crack at this one.
-
I thought the same thing when I saw it. Looking forward to your take on the Daedalus. The Paris should be interesting since that was the basis for the Archer class. Should be interesting to see those big ole honkin' cannons under her nose.
-
I say keep it up, I love Masao's designs, I'd certainly like to see more of them in BC
-
Yea I like those nose cannons too. Planning on doing the Lancaster also.
I'll do that Daedalus next, two ships, how does the USS Walsh and the USS King sound?
-
well USS Walsh does have a nice ring to it IMHO. Haven't done enough posts to cookie you yet but I am giving this overall idea of SFM a virtual cookie at least.
-
i was thinking of USS. Bach, and USS. Nightingale
cookie to whoever can spot the reference
-
lol nice Legacy reference
-
damn that was fast
-
lol the joys of Saturday morning and Thunderbird...
-
KCS is going to have a crisis now that you're making a new Daedalus.. :funny
-
i cracked up at that, Deadli never get finished (almost)
-
I just never was much of a fan of anything Daedalus or other TOS designs besides the Constitution and slight variants. There are only two things I like that have anything to do with the Daedalus class, the Icarus and the Olympic.
Regarding the Icarus, it's absolutely beautiful. A well executed ship to be sure.
I am a bit fond of that slightly reimagined Daedalus though. I'm still not much of a fan of the tube neck, but you can't change everything and get away with it.
-
I've never been a big fan of the Daedalus either. The only reason I ever really tolerated it was because of it being on of Jefferies original designs for the E. That being said the redesigned Daedalus definitely is much better looking. Glad G is thinking of doing it. Been wanting to show it to him for awhile but didn't want to seem like I was making a ship request lol.
-
I was toying with this ship, a Daedaloid inspired design for sure, the USS Armstrong from ship schemtics database.
-
Hot stuff buddy, keep it up
-
like I've said about cars, americans hate anything with curves :P
at least YOURS didn't go into development hell, like mine did, even with repairs. i can't find the finished version, yet, of the model I kitbashed.
-
Thanks Bank, If only the Nomad was Daedalus.
-
LOL, you promised,lol
-
damn.... I like that one too...keep up the good work man! Always a joy to get your girls in game ;)
-
Some texture work on the Armstrong:
-
beautiful...is she going to carry the Dyson/Icarus weapons load or are you doing something new?
-
I will most likley use the Dyson HP as a basis for the Armstrong HP.
-
can we get nukes instead of photons though, to keep in tune with the romulan wars?
-
Funny you should ask. I am plannig to include Fusion warhead missiles.
-
ok, that works fine!
-
Looks to me to be another winner. nice work.
-
This little D7 is feeling the phasery wrath of Battleship Yamamoto..
-
oh man....can't wait to get her and the Pyotr ind game... she looks amazing...
-
She IS amazing. Truly a nightmare for Klingons and Romulans..Although, IMHO she could use some rollbar-mounted phaser cannons just to match the wide range of weaponry carried by rommies and klinks. but she is already able to run toe to toe with surprisingly many TNG vessels..
-
Sweet screenshot Lionus  Talk about a punch in the nose. Cookie for you.
-
Have the Armstrong in-game. Here she is in formation with thw Quetzalcoatl.
-
:drink2: oooooooo....Must Have....
-
HMMMM, nice, cookied
-
so...after reading up on the Q Ship are you going to be adding her air wing as well?
-
Already done. Loading her up with Penguin Fighters.
-
oh man...she just keeps getting better and better...glad to see you went with the Penguins. MUCH better looking then the Puffins IMHO.
-
Here is the Quetzalcoatl with some of her fighters
-
oh man...now I'm really chomping at the bit to get this girl in game!
-
Alright folks this is way cool.
Here are Fusion Nuclear Missiles (Torpedoes). These aren't just torpedoes with a large damage factor but use torpedo scripting. The torpedo itself will not cause any damage but when the Nuke goes off the splash damage from the explosion will damage your target and any other nearby ship including the player ship, so these must be used wisley.
-
oh...my...god... :muahaha:
-
Thats pritty sweet, hate to be on the wrong side of it,lol.
-
"Look, Commander Krang: they're sending out bees to fight us! Hahahaha--wait, what's that? Sir! They've fired a--"
Pretty nifty.
+Cookie
-
can you ad smoke trails to that?
-
very nice work.
-
Just wanting to see if there is any interest in the Dragon class from Starfleet Museum. If not I am not going to bother texturing her.
-
My, what big teeth you have
-
Well, the model is very nicely done. But again, I am not a fan of the design. :idk:
-
Go ahead, that looks awesome, we could always use more Pre-TOS ships.
BTW, does Masao know your doing all this? He might have extra reference material for you to use, not that you need it, you're doing an awesome job with what you have.
-
Thanks Aces. No, I have not contacted Masao but that is not a bad idea to do so.
I decided to do this ship because it's so ugly I couldn't take my eyes of it, LOL. I guess she will be fun to shoot at, put her out of her misery with one of the fusion missiles.
-
Ah, so you agree with me. :funny
She'll be fun to take out with some Klingon ships...
-
I think I'm going to need a bib for all the drool you keep causing! I like the Dragon but like the idea of target practice with her more! Are you planning on doing any of the Kilinks or Rommies from SFM?
-

Cookie for the ROFL :funny :dance :funny
GM your doing a hell of a job, keep it up, cookie for you to
-
I'm interested in the Dragon Class, I don't think she's ugly, she looks purposefully utilitarian to me. Although it looks like you need to shorten the length of the pulse cannons on the command hull just a slight bit, they look shorter in the schematic.
Also, I think you should lighten the hull textures on your pre-tos ships, at the very least the SFM ones. Since the schematics show they should have a nearly white color, as opposed to the gray TOS hull. Other than that, Your ships look excellent, I'd love to see more SFM ships in the future like the Comet, Gagarin and Wasp classes
-
Here is the Dragon class in-game.
-
I actually think that design could grow on me.
-
Cookie for the first one to guess which ship this is...
-
lol been waiting for the Bonaventure! Like your first one better though!
-
:yay: Damn that was fast, cookie for you
-
:funny: I just happened to be logged in when you posted it
-
    Sweet as always. I was thinking that the musem work that your doing is shortly after enterprise. So i was thinking, maby insted of jest doing the musem prints, that you could also update the texters like what you have and crosses it with the ent era also.
-
Here is the S.S. Bonaventure from the Animated Series episode "The Time Trap" in game. Still need to do some work on the textures.
-
Wow...pretty...is this all going to be part of a pack?
-
Yes, I was thinking of releasing them as a Museum Ships Pack. But it seems the Aftermath Team has come up with the same idea, so I might release them individually.
-

dont. competition is a good thing :)
-
dont. competition is a good thing :)
I agree. I don't have any Aftermath mods on my install so getting all of these beauties at once, even if it means waiting, is a real bonus!
-
Thanks, ok then, I'll release them in a pack.
-
 sweet!
-
Need your opinions on what looks better, textures with paneling (top pic) or without panrling (bottom pic) for the Museum ships, especially the SS Bonaventure which is from the Animated Series.
-
the one with paneling, it gives the hull more dimension, more solid look IMHO.
-
Definately with panelling, but i would adjust the texture on the necelles so the reg is not on that slanty bit, mabey spread it out or summat.
Good work non the less
-
Panelling. :)
-
I'd have to go with paneling as well
-
Make that Five on the paneling...
Looks great!
-
Paneling.
Looks great.
-
Here is the Lancaster-class:
-
Damn...she looks pretty damn amazing!
-
wonder which kind of Lancaster she's named after, the Avro bomber, or the amish country county :P
-
Or the Lancaster in Australia, the three in Canada, or, perhaps most likely; the town of Lancaster in England, which all of these othe places are named after :P
Anyway, brilliant ship; would love to kill some Rommies in it!
-
Lancaster Texas?
-
Texture update. Still need to add the windows.
-
:dance another beauty....love that you went with the AVG paint scheme near the deflector!
-
Lancaster class is done and in game.
-
damn...
-
Nice work
-
Valley Forge Class
-
Looking good so far!
-
Great work :yay:
-
You should send shots of these off to Masao at the Starfleet Museum. He has pictures of SFC versions of his ships up on some of the articles already.
-
Valley Forge is in-game
-
oooh, purty!
-
Damn nice! I have enough posts to give a cookie but don't know how but know I would if I could
-
Little plus button next to the cookies thingy
+ cookie from me!
-
Thanks guys! Your appreciation is motivating.
-
You're very welcome and cookie away!
-
Here is the Dragon class in-game.
I feel sorry for the ship that goes up against that.
-
Here is the Comet-class:
-
Another classic...can't wait to see her textured.
-
Thanks DMWalsh. Can't decide on wether to texture her in UES or UFP markings.
-
Thanks DMWalsh. Can't decide on wether to texture her in UES or UFP markings.
Depending on when the ship was constructed, why not make both? Personally i'd love to see some of these Starfleet Museum ships textured in a similar style to the NX-01.
-
I would tend to agree with darkthunder. Seeing some in NX style texturing would be nice and you could always do a UESN texture and then make a "refit" version textured in UFP livery.
-
Here is a texture update on the Comet. Decided to go with UFP scheme...
-
Nice work! She actually looks better in UFP now that I see her.
-
Comet-class is in-game:
-
Damn... I think she may just be my favorite based on her textures!
-
Great work on all these Gustavo.
You are THE TOS man!
-
Great work bud
-
Wow you're really doing justice to Masao's work. :yay:
-
Here is the Siegfried-class dreadnought. I like the concept of this ship, the front half of the secondary hull is dedicated to the Kaminari II "shield buster" super beam weapon which is fed power directly from the warp core.
-
Uh oh.. prepare for the inevitable IMMAFIRINGMAHPHAZORBLARRRRRGHHH! :funny
-
Uh oh.. prepare for the inevitable IMMAFIRINGMAHPHAZORBLARRRRRGHHH! :funny
LMAO Lionus Cookie for that! Looks good G!
-
Do you plan on doing any Museum Klingon or Romulan ships? The Feds need something to shoot at.
-
I think most of those have already been done, but I'd welcome new versions of them
-
I think Zambie Zan did a pack of Starfleet Museum Romulan Ships, and maybe did a TMP version of the D4, but that's about all I recall. It would be nice to see D2 to D6 done in the TOS era.
-
There are 2 separate ship packs of museum era ships in it's own sub category on the main site. Seeing G's take on them though would be interesting to see.
-
I don't recall there being one for the Klingons. I know there's also a Romulan War ship pack featuring Dark Drone's models.
-

http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Klingon_DPack;40411
That has everything from the D-2 to Q'Onos 1 in it. TCMP has hardpoint updates for the pack as well.
-
Those D-pack ships aren't from the Starfleet Museum, though it's a good mod. I'm refering to these ships.

I kinda like d5s -d6s.
-
Actually, I am planning on doing the Museum Klingon ships. The Feds do need something to shoot at.
-
Indeed!
-
I'm actually looking forward to seeing the Avenger:

-
Texture wip on the Siegfried.
-
damn....you know if you need a beta tester just let me know I'd LOVE to take these girls out for a spin!
-
First I'd like to say, your doing marvelous work on Masao's ships, the Siegfried looks great. However, going back through the thread I noticed that the pylons on several of the ships are not accurate to the schematics. The Quetzalcoatl shouldn't have any grates on the the top sides of the pylons. The Dragon shouldn't have any grates on the forward pylons. The Valley Forge should have one continuous grate on the pylons. And the Siegfried should also have a single continuous grate.
Aside from those details, your models are nearly perfect depictions of these ships, and I'm really looking forward to them. I understand of course, if you don't wish to take the time to fix these admittedly minor features, but I thought I would point it out in case it was your intention to make them as accurate as possible.
-
Shion, thanks for your appreciation of the Starfleet Museum models and I crongratulate you on your attenion to detail. Indeed my intention is to reproduce these models as closley as possible to the dipicted schemetics on Masao's site.
You caught the one area that I allowed myself to deviate as I thought it made the models look a bit better by adding some detail. I do not think that correcting these would be to big of an effort. I would like to ask the BCC community on their opinion on wether to leave them as is, with the added grates on the pylons, or remove them so they are more accurate with the schematics?
-
I would keep them as they are. That's called artist's freedom.
-
I like 'em with the grills on. They don't take away from the original designs and add a bit of continuity to the overall design lineage.
-
perhaps a middle ground, leave them on but make them less pronounced, give them a dark specularity so they pop out in the right light.
-
I'm certainly glad that my post wasn't taken in a negative light, or construed as being nit picky. I must admit I felt a bit of trepidation posting that, as I've seen some backlash against criticism here recently. So I thank you for seeing my intent.
My view on it, is that these are absolutely wonderful, accurate representations of the Masao's Museum fleet. Thus since you are striving for accuracy and are nearly as close as any reproduction can be, I see it as a shame not to go all the way.
Though I will say that either way you decide to go, I'm definitely downloading these and I'm sure they will become favorites of mine. Also, Thanks for modeling all of these TOS ships and making them available to us. It's an under appreciated era, and I'm glad someones filling it out with such quality and attention to detail.
addendum: While I feel that that while extra detail can be nice at times, grates are indeed present on quite a few of the museum ships, while absent on others. To me that implies that those traits are intentional by the author, and the grates or lack there of are a feature of the ships design.
sub addendum: Only 2 of the ships currently made should have no grates, the latter 2 simply have a continuous grate instead of a split one, so no details are actually lost.
-
Shion, You most definitely make a compelling argument. Thanks for your pledge to download when the ships are ready. Would you possibly be agreeable to Beta test?
-
I'd be honored to beta test your ships, thank you. I look forward to seeing the next ship you decide to build.
-
Here is the Siegfried in-game:
-
I do like that Shield Buster! Cookie for you!
-
Added some speculars, I like it! :D
-
 NICE!
-
Added some speculars, I like it! :D
very nice! looks a little like the federation class
-
Nice... but those tiger stripes... I know about creative license and all but... :idk:
-
I actually like them, considering the rather funky shape. Gives it personality. :P
-
Gentlmen, the tiger stripes are not "creative licensing" or "artisitc discretion" or anything along those line but are in fact part of the author's (Masao Okazaki) original design and depiction of the Siegfried-class ship.
-
With all of these ships, I'm very tempted to build a TOS D-7 to blast all of these ships away. :funny
-
if you do, wiley, un whimpy the thing.
-
Don't know if it's too late to do so G but you should add the Kilngon trefoils to the port side of the hull like Masao has in the orthos
-
Here is the Paris-class.
-
Sweet, Love the cannons :yay:
-
nice...what's the size comparison to your Archer?
-
The Archer scout is 50 meters long and the Paris light cruiser is 129 meters long. I didn't use the Archer as a base for the Paris and is a new model from scratch.
-
Sweet. I was curious of the size differences since they used the Paris as a basis for the Archer for Vanguard. Can't wait to see her all painted up and ready to fly!
-
Hey, it's the Paris class! And it looks great as usual except the shape of the cannons looks kind of strange, that could just be the angle of the picture though. Any chance you could post a profile shot?
-
are you planning on making any of the variants?

HOLY FNARG hotlink fail.
-
 Damn I can't wait to get these girls in game...is there a timeframe yet?
-
Here is the Paris textured. I was not planning to do the variants but I guess I could.
-
HOLY FNARG hotlink fail.
It looks fine on my end, I can post the URL if there's a problem

-
because you visited the link before hand... ex-astris... prevents hotlinking
right, I forgot about that
-
Was fooling around and wipped up the Torsk class in about an hour
-
Thanks for the Orthographic shots, The cannons do look pretty cannon.... sorry, I had to say that :D So it was just the angle making them look strange. The Torsk looks like a great start, I look forward to seeing progress on her.
-

"cannons look pretty canon" is the correct spelling :P
-
these ships are coming out great keep it up :eek
we need orthos of some of the finish ships
-
"cannons look pretty canon" is the correct spelling :P
Unless he meant "cannon-like" :P then the joke holds.
Looks great there G!
-
Here is some texture progress on the Torsk
-
Hey, she is very sweet my friend
-
Texture on the Torsk is complete.
-
Wow. You are making good progress. :yay:
Wondering whats comes next.
-
Got the Torsk in-game
-
looks like a fat baby-fish or something like that. but still nicely done
-
another great piece of work!
-
Can't wait until you release these! Especially the Bonaventure...been waiting for that one for a long time! I'm sure I won't be disappointed!
-
Any idea when or if these 2 ships the paris and the Torsk will hit bcfiles..for showing and genneral public use.?
would love to put them through the wash to see what rings out...
-
:whenitsdone
about the only thing missing, here, is GM's take on the Daede.
-
Nice work. she looks sweet ingame.
-
Been wanting to do this one for some time. Here is the Predator Destroyer, and yes I am going to do the Avenger also.
-
nice...
-
Nice?? Are you bloddy mad, these are fantastic
-
adding another pylon and nacelle would make it a perfect Akula..
-
adding another pylon and nacelle would make it a perfect Akula..
a JJ Akula :P
I'm wondering what the next model he's adding will be already !
-
nice...
Nice?? Are you bloddy mad, these are fantastic
|I couldn't disagree more. This newest ship is one of the furthest from trek design, especially from the original series. The one single thing that connects it to trek is the deflector dish.
-
It's good work just not a fan of these designs. I'm sure once they're textured I'll change my mind but right now all I can say is good work!
-
Now, I would love to see the Pyotr Velikiy class...it would be cool to see both variants actually...and I haven't been a fan of these designs either. Of course, I'm gonna download it anyway. Keep up the good work :yay:
-
Did someone say Pytor Velikiy? Ok here you go
-
wow...now that's impressive cookie for you!
-
I am just LOVING the classic designs coming out here! WOW! COOKIE!!!!
-
Got the Predator in-game
-
Sweet mothr of the gods...i love it....nice work.. :yay:
-
Okay I have to admit I'm starting to like this design! Good Work G!
-
My god you work fast! Now how about a Pyotr Velikiy? If you can churn one of those out and release it, I will worship you
-
Did someone say Pytor Velikiy? Ok here you go
Read up the page a little.
-
Here is the Avenger-class
-
okay yeah the design is starting to grow on me  good work!
-
good gravy, you're lightning fast.
too bad you couldn't talk that one modder into a reskin of the Sacrament and Dixieland (they need it)
i look foreward to when you get all these released
-
since you're on a roll, any chance of the Kestrel or Aryabhatta classes?
-
since you're on a roll, any chance of the Kestrel or Aryabhatta classes?
Personally I think ZZ's Kestrel is still looking good.
-
great scott!, She's alive!!!!! Great work buddy, thank you!!!
-
When you gonna release these beauties?!? I can't wait for the Valley Forge...
Keep up the good work, man!
-
:whenitsdone
-
Neutral Zone Patrol
-
You picked the best looking ships on SFM for this pic in my opinion.
Here's an idea I had:
See the middle ship? The Predator? From this perspective, it looks Miranda-ish, with two nacelles... just saying... would make an interesting kitbash... ;)
-
Hmm...how about...a Capella with the Nacelles up? That would be awesome... :dance
-
I have the Capella on my "to do" list but, I was going to do the nacelles down version.
-
Looks very good. What about Furious Class and Spectre Class. I know its not TOS-Style but wood look nice. But it is not a request.
-
I have the Capella on my "to do" list but, I was going to do the nacelles down version.
Maybe both? For some reason I like it more with the nacelles up...it seems less like a Miranda to me, and more like its own ship. I mean, either way, I'd download it, because all your stuff is fantastic.
-
This is an education, this thread. I'd always glossed over the goofy-looking SFM designs, and not given them much thought. Seeing them fleshed out like this is an eye-opener. There was a really nicely mapped out evolution of the Starfleet design ethic, before Enterprise and JJTrek muddied the waters (though I love the Kelvin).
I've groaned about the endless TOS connie kitbashes being churned out as "TOS this" or "TOS that", but these, for the most part, really have their own character. I've just noticed how some of those ships have bulbous and overly-rounded nacelles. I wonder if Ryan Church drew any inspiration from them? I'd like to think he and the rest of the design team at least surveyed Trek history to gain a flavour of what we expected.
Any plans to make a few Romulan, civvie, or other non-Starfleet ships from the museum?
It might be sacrilege to say it, but I do remember some of those designs being extremely simple and under-detailed, even by TOS standards (*As if in apology, turns head and gazes lovingly at DST HD TOS 1701 on nearby shelf* Simple or no, it's a gorgeous starship), is there any chance of greebling, or breaking the curves here and there, taking a little artistic licence with some of the more hideously simplistic designs? Or are you just leaving them on the cutting room floor?
-
Giant-class Cargo Transport
-
ooohhh she'll make for some great target practice :yay:
-
This is gonna sound mean, but...stop making new ones and release the ones you've already made!!! PLEASE!!! :hithead:
You're making me go insane out of wait... :bitch:
Otherwise, keep up the good work!
-
Patience, young padawan. Everything will be released when he finishes tinkering with them.
-
this list gets any longer, and I'll have my pack out before you! :D
-
I probably should release what I have done already. Just need to do a few tweaks to the HPs.
Should I do the entire bundle or package them by era? for Example: Pytor, Avenger, Predator in one package, Lancaster, Quetzalcoatl, Paris, Siegfried in another?
-
I'm all for releasing them all at once!
-
It's been a while, the Predator, Avenger and Giant look great. I personally don't mind waiting until your done, and downloading a single pack. I think you should take your time on it and finish all the ships you want to do and not rush it.
-
Nicely done.
-
Now here is something to shoot at - Klingon D4
-
loving it buddy
-
Hmmm, not sure if I'm crazy about this one. The textures might change my mind though. Keep it up.
-
Now...I have an idea, complete all the Klingon ships, THEN release the Klingon and Federation Starships in a big pack!
-
The Starfleet Museum Klingon ships do look a bit "cartoonish", especially the early ones but, as with the fed ships I am trying to stay true to Okazaki's designs.
-
I like it. Can't wait to see what it looks like with textures.
-
only thing missing now is a rom design. I've seen a couple that'd qualify for this pack.
-
Got the D4 in game
-
I like it! Nice pulse textures too! Cookie for you.
-
I like it! Nice pulse textures too! Cookie for you.
that pulse looks standart to me. no textures applied that are special. i dont even think you can apply textures to the pulse model. to a torp model yes... but pulse?...
well, good work of you, but the design just doesnt get to me.
-
You are correct JTK. Pulse textures can not be changed, only color and size.
I have found of Masao's SFM designs that people either like them or they don't. But it is kind of cool seeing these ships going up against each other in Bridge Commander, especially the Romulan War era ships, kind of a change of pace.
I am also striving to make the HPs for these ships as close to the descriptions given by Masao on the website. Power systems and shields are not so advanced on these ships and managing power distribution and repair are necessary during combat, which I believe was one of the the original intentions of Bridge Commander. This aspect of the game, again, is one of those things that people love or hate.
Thanks to everyone whos has given me support during this effort, hopefully I will finish soon and make the models available to all.
-
You can change a pulse texture. I did it on the Enterprise G.

Dont just leave use Hanging , tell us how! or PM me, I you dont want tell everyone
-
Yes DJ, do tell
GM, Great work. I still think you should tweek the textures a little, making them more up to date. And add a little more glows.
-
Have a look at some of the pulse and torpedo textures in the /date/textures/projectiles folder. If you DL the Ent G and want to use those as a base, go right ahead. Once you've got your .tga's set up for how you want the pulse to look, go to /scripts/custom/projectiles and create a script for the pulse. Again, get the Ent G and just use my work as a base. The script is "DJQuantum" and the .tga's are similarly named. Then in the MPE, when you set up the projectiles, just specify the script name and (I think) folder and they should work. Don't forget to associate a sound with the pulse.
-
Sweet, thanks DJ, this will come in handy for our WEPS KIT, we made new pulse tga's but thought we couldn't use them, we will credit you and have a cookie.
-
Klingons!!! Finally :yay:
-
DJ,
Forgive me but I don't think we mean using torpedo scripts with pulse weapons in the HP as in the Enterpise G. When using actual pulse disruptor scipts, which gives you an elongated tear drop shape projectile, the texture can not be specified in the script. Technically the texture can be changed by modifying the default disruptor.tga image file but Since this file is shared by all the disruptor scripts the change will effect all ships that use disruptor scripts.
-
With GMunoz permission i ve started on the Romulan museum ships and the 1st one i am doing is the cabbage heres what ive do so far

So why not just do it the other way then to get the result you want? :)

You know, I've always loved...pretty much every single ship in the Starfleet museum.
At this point, I don't think you should release it until you've got EVERYTHING done. Then...then it'll be worth the wait. :dance
Keep up the good work!
-
here alittle update on the cabbage just some small things to do, more model work and some small mesh errors to do
-
something just hit me.
there's allready a Klingon D pack out with a D2 and D4 in it. don't want these to overwrite each other.
-
KCS, they won't.
-
Here is the D2 with paint
-
Weapons?
-
I'd love to see all the Klingon vessels finished...except a D7...I think we already have too many of those.
-
deadthunder, can you please elaborate on you question of weapons?
smle, I do not intend to do the D7, just like I have no intentions of doing the Constitution. Well, to be honest, I did do a Constitution but for my own use.
-
What is the weapon compliment?
I see 2 disruptors, but is that all
-
Wait...I was looking...why don't we have a Belleau Wood? I saw some fighter models with the Quetzalcoatl, so you got that down...it's nothing personal, I'm just a sucker for the Belleau...
-
like the textures on this one! Too bad about the Connie... Deg has an interesting take on the ole' girl that would look good in game...
-
You do excellent work Gustavo.
Cookie.
-
Here is the D5
-
ooooo can't wait to see this one textured!
-
Nice, thats an interesting take
-
D5 is textured and in-game
-
Have the Armstrong in-game. Here she is in formation with thw Quetzalcoatl.

It more Ent/Rom wars Era
-
Whoa, creepy, I was playing around with a Conqueror model recently, figured it'd be fun (and it was), model looks beautiful, really does the design justice, mate.
-
Yea, it's a neat ship and the weapons layout packs a punch too.
-
Are you planning to do the Kestral class?
I think this also fits in museum era, and sicne there's never enough axis I thought I'd throw it in.
http://www.inpayne.com/models/kitbash/trekpage_seabird.html
As well as:
http://www.inpayne.com/models/kitbash/trekpage_reeses.html Don't think anyone has done a quality one of these though I thought there was a wip over in SFC.
http://www.inpayne.com/models/kitbash/trekpage_columbus.html This aint bad either. Could be made to look a tad older with bonaventure nacelles.
-
the Kestrel's allready been done. I think it just needs some minor texture tweaks.
but the rest of those? oh, yeah, those need modeled that Romulan "Seabird" grabs my attention. it fits right in with the design think associated with the romulans.
i better make a Pre-TOS catagory in my saves, after all...
-
Indeed. Intermech also has some rom war era stuff, I believe he has a couple roms and a bison class..I forget what all it is but I think his usage policies are completely open including modifications so you guys could even throw his stuff in too. The workmanship many not match side by side, but they're pretty good none the less.

I think G's Dyson is a pretty close proximity to the Reeses.
On another note was kind of hoping there would be a XMas release of some of these today... Still just chomping at the bit to get the girls in game. Might even try my hand at a POTD with some of these...
-
Here is the Powhatan-class
-
and in-game...
-
Here is the Yorktown-class carrier and the Minotaur fighters she is designed to carry. The textures on the Minotaur are the first of a total of 5 I plan to do.
-
keep'em coming, they look great. BTW:

This might give you some ideas.
-
So I have been having some fun painting the Minotaurs. Here what I have so far, might do a few more. The top three paint jobs are from SFM. Bottom three are ones I came up with.
-
wait a minnit...does the Soviet one say "chipmunk" (if I remember my cyrillic right)?
-
I thought it says Sturmovik
-
Very nice!
-
Haha, we Americans are such perverts. Just look at our fighters! lol
-
Those minotaurs are fighters? They are some cool fighters but man my 8 year old sens of humour kicked in. Still they are some pretty good looking fighters and would destroy romulans for the good of earth. :D
-
i have a hard time with cyrillic for sh/ch/shch, and I couldn't read the second letter even blown up
Vladko just confirmed it for me. must be the font.
the US deco is TOO over the top. keep the nose art babe, but add another tip deco (and darken the blue, I think)
-
damn...another great job G! Cookie for you!
-
Good to see your still chugging along on these, They look fantastic, really like the fighter decals, it shows off your creativity while keeping to the feel of the originals.
-
Did the D3 Battlecruiser. Basically an extended D2
-
Hi everyone, still alive and here is something to prove it: Romulan-War era Romulan Cabbage-class cruiser
-
Yet another cookie for you G!
-

Hello all, been a while and lots of happenings, new baby, health issues, move to a new state and hard drive crash. Had my models backed up but lost the Romulan Cabbage class and many HP changes and weapons scripts I did in preparattion for release of the Starfleet Museum Pack. Back at it now and hope to release in the near future.
Here is the UES Amarillo Class Cruiser:
-
Glad to have you back Gustavo. Congratulations on the new baby and sorry to hear about the health issues... hope you're doing better and the move went smoothly.
Looking real nice... excellent quality on the model.
-
I want to say :yay: that you're back, and to the baby. Sorry to hear about the hell issues and the hardrive crash. We all missed you, but thankfully phoenix helped fill the void.
-
Thanks guys. Let me tell you, I am going to toss my TOS ships and replace them with Phoenix's stuff, they are fantastic!
-
The images he's posted have definitely looked great, and I look forward to being a beta tester, but the ones you released are still the top. Well, except for Wiley's Connie.
-
welcome back, yo.
don't you DARE toss ships! i've got every stinkin one of your submissions, including that Za'Chiri mantid!
besides, he gimmie a look at the nif for the connie. it's a beaut, but it's also highly complicated, has a complicated unwrap, and (thanks to all the SFRD beta-ing) i now automatically look for funky smoothing errors (really minor ones on small detail stuff that pass just fine otherwise)
-
I would not bin your ships mate, they are to a very high standard and you should keep going with it
-
Wow, thanks guys. Nice to know the models are appreciated. I will definatley compliment my collection with Phoenix's work.
-
I also have every single one of your ships, and think they're fantastic!
-
Thanks guys. Let me tell you, I am going to toss my TOS ships and replace them with Phoenix's stuff, they are fantastic!
aww thanks man :D - but still dont stop keep going :D
-
Yes please, release em all, none of your models deserve being trashed, there can never be too many models available anyway lol(plus I like when models match). Also I'm sorry to hear about your complications, I'm glad your back though, haven't touched BC in the longest time, but still eagerly awaiting your TOS/Museum ships!
Also, mourn Romulan Cabbage :( Poor ship, Hope it can be remade
-
I re-did the Romulan War Era Cabbage class it is still "green".
