USS Aventine
« on: June 21, 2009, 08:37:36 AM »
The USS Aventine from the ST: Destiny trilogy as designed by Mark Rademaker.

Calvin grows up to be Frazz. The logical continuation of this is, of course, that Frazz then grows up to be Edward Norton's character from Fight Club. And thus, all four of these characters are gods.Let's go one more step. Calvin grows up to be Jeremy, who grows up to be Frazz, who grows up to be "Tyler Durden," while Suzie grows up to be Haruhi Suzumiya; since Kyon becomes The Doctor, this leads to the inescapable conclusion that after the end of Fight Club, Calvin becomes Captain Jack.

If the nacelles and deflector were different, I'd be more inclined. But thats not exactly a pretty ship.
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

The article that contains the Aventine's unveiling, including a video of a 3d test video the artist did.

Not bad looking for Starfleet's first slipstream ship, heckuva lot better looking than the Dauntless.

i love the nacelles and pylons.

although i do agree with the comments that resent a move away from newer starships not having a nice neck between saucer and the stardrive

it looks like a federation ship, but lacks very much in the way of classy aesthetic.

I love it, even if everyone else doesn't. I wouldn't say it's better looking than the Dauntless, but I love it.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

I'd need to see some more views, but whatever it is it looks like it could be the sov we'd get if derived from the new tos enterprise timeline. If that is the theory for this design then, I wonder what the excel, ambassador and galaxy would have turned out?

Found that too. WW2 subs anyone? dive planes and conning tower.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

Wasn't the Aventine the Ship Captained by Ezri Dax in the Destiny Trilogy?

Drexler features the creator of this ship on his blog. I still think it's a poor design.
