Thanx for the warm welcome guys.  It's possible.......... I do have the SNS Galaxy etched into my head so I'm not used to seeing the variant Season 3+ Model.

The perspective may be off too... depending on the aspect ratio of the renderer in his screenshots, it could be making it appear off to me.  Hard to say...

OK OK... I just looked at some Season 3 Screens and it is quite a bit different... DJ you are doing a great job on it so far!

Sorry I can be a little anal with the Galaxy, only because it's my favorite ship :)

In terms of the actual shape, I built the ship precisely to the schematics found in the ST:TNG technical manual, so it should be fairly accurate in that regard.  If the secondary hull's too thin, it's by a hair.  But I think I know what you mean, it's very different from the SNS.

LMAO.... mmmm cookies good....  STD's bad....

Holy do I feel like a noob... what are the cookies for on this forum and how do you give them??

Anyways... so I don't get off topic and banned in this thread, I have the TNG Technical Manual, but it's been years since I've looked at, but the more I look at the pics you've posted DJ, you are pretty close!

If by a hair you mean because of the big thick lines they used for the outline in the schematics.... I could see how that might happen!

I don't think I realized the shape differences between the Season one Galaxy and Season 3.  I just thought it was a smaller version, yet more detailed (that's what they said at least)

i thought the same,
I have TNG Enterprise D blueprints, and in the little booklet that comes with it they go into deep detail about designing the Ent D, down the the phaser strips, and out of the 3 models they built the only difference was minor details like escape pods etc, and the actual physical size of all 3,
But DJ's still looks awesome, none the less :)

there were definite differences.  the 4ft model had raised panels, a different deflector, shape changes to the neckm and the spine was different.  the color also became greyish hues rather than green and blue.  Also, the secondary hull was a bit narrower and taller.  Overall, the ship just had a more staunch look to it.  Oh yeah, and the port nacelle was pointed a bit down, but i took some artistic license and fixed that. lol

You need any technical information and or names. I can give those to you. Hell I'll also give you some non-canon names. How does that sound?

Galaxy Class
Role: Battleship/Explorer
Crew: 1,710

Unit Run
USS Galaxy NX/NCC-70637
USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D
USS Odyssey NCC-71832
USS Yamato NCC-71807
USS Asgard NCC-75628
USS Venture NCC-71854
USS Dauntless NCC-71879
USS Magellan NCC-71636
USS Onimaru NCC-76890
USS Challenger NCC-71099
USS San Fransisco NCC-74780
USS Trident NCC-71356
USS Triniculo NCC-71867
USS Discovery NCC-80103
USS Columbia NCC-79102
USS New Horizons NCC-78551

Dimensions
-Length: 641m
-Width: 470m
-Height: 147m

Armament:
-12x Type X Phaser Arrays
-2x Photon/Quantum Torpedo Tubes with 275 rounds

Defenses
-High Capacity Shield Grid
-Ablative Armor (assuming this is post Dominion War)

Warp Speeds
-Normal Cruise: 6
-Maximum Cruise: 9.2
-Maximum Rated: 9.6

I got USS Asgard from the nove "A Time To Be Born. Trident is the ship commanded by Shelby(who was last seen in canon is BoBW) Most the of the other names are either canon, on BC, or made up by me.

Calvin grows up to be Frazz. The logical continuation of this is, of course, that Frazz then grows up to be Edward Norton's character from Fight Club. And thus, all four of these characters are gods.Let's go one more step. Calvin grows up to be Jeremy, who grows up to be Frazz, who grows up to be "Tyler Durden," while Suzie grows up to be Haruhi Suzumiya; since Kyon becomes The Doctor, this leads to the inescapable conclusion that after the end of Fight Club, Calvin becomes Captain Jack.

In 2366 the Enterprise-D had a crew compliment of 1,014 (officers, crewmembers and family members). I'm sure the number varies depending on the amount of family members on board the ship. And if i'm not mistaken, in the "Yesterdays Enterprise" episode, Tasha mentioned the ship was capable of transporting at least 6,000 troops. So we know the Galaxy class can hold alot of people :P

Hey DJ...I was wondering about page 128.  Is the Saucer Module launcher going to be there?, and where does it go exactly since there's no side view from what I can see.

Is there a way you can make that bumpmap part of the texture.  Like fake-bump-mapping.  I think it would be awesome, even if it's just for me.  That's my only request. :D

The saucer module will have the aft torpedo launcher when it separates.

I'm gonna see about the bump mapping.  Fake bump mapping usually looks like hell, if you ask me, but I'll see.

Ok, enough spamming.

I'm hoping that the texture size will make it viewable.  I figure smaller size textures may obscure the look.
I'm just looking to make an awesome video here. :D
