Hey, I understand that job thing, happens to me quite often.

As for that very interesting history, I can definitely see that she's your baby.  A ship of my own design has almost as long a history as yours, and if I can ever get access to a scanner, I plan on showing off her final stage of design.  And to think, my ship started out as a Frankenstein. lol

Anyway, good luck with this ship, perfection can't be rushed after all...when it is, it looks like my Connie retexture. lol

Small, yet massive, update. I present to you, the Mithra... rendered with Raytracer. A thousand thanks to Blaxxer, Lint, Wiley, and many others for their supreme assistance in helping my brainless self understand what was going on. xD

Also, I've decided to stick with the version four mesh. I'll be tweaking it heavily, though. Thrusters quads will be modeled in, as well as new sensor strips and possibly cleaner phaser arrays, as well as a new aft section and insert into the saucer, similar to the Tiburon Class. [I tested this with the version 5 mesh, and it looked AWESOME for this design, so I'm going to impliment it.]

I'm officially declaring Mithra Version 5 a faliure, as it simply was not taking as planned. However, it wasn't an entire faliure, as I learned an extreme amount about tools like chamfer and boolean that I hadn't even seen before. With these new tools, and increased efficiency in my model construction, I plan to have this mesh better than ever. Besides... I kinda got attatched to this one... it just feels right, you know? :]

I also want to learn how Lint did the grating on his defiant's nacelles and deflector, as I have some amazing ideas that will make the mithra look SAVAGE!! >:]

Stay tuned. Here's yer' pics.... [I can't seem to upload them, so I'll just post them and edit later on] [[Double Edit: nevermind... I messed up on the upload. Sorry... My bad... is it possible to delete those pics so I can upload the three?]

Sounds interesting.  I do want to say this now...the secondary hull looks a bit weird going that long...it probably wouldn't if it blended into the saucer ala. the Akira, but as it is...it just looks odd.  IDK...whatever works best for you though, it is your ship. ^_^

are those notches next to the forward pulse arrays phaser banks? excelent concept as the saucer angle does kinda limit forward coverage

the forward hull will look fine if you just pull the two tips together closer.

@ everyone: Thanks a tonn! :D

@ DJ: Oh, yes, that's a good idea. I'll implement that after work today. Thanks. :]

@ markynd: I'm still a total noob with textures, but I'm surrounded by some of the most talented people around. The textures will be as awesome... though somehow I don't think this'll be a ship for low-end PC users. xD

just a little thing I did last night; new declector dish. :] Hope you like it.

-edit- DANG IT ALL! wrong pic...

Looks amazing!  This is by far the ship I am looking forward to playing with the most.  How big is it?

I believe he already said it but if not it seems be in the 300-400m range.
All hail the messiah!

I believe he already said it but if not it seems be in the 300-400m range.
How big is it?

Roughly the same size as the Century, though larger via mass, as she's "chunkier".

btw, how many polys is this new one?

About 28k. But keep in mind that it's by no means the final count... a lot of work has yet to be done to get this older mesh up to snuff. So, we might be looking at either a MUCH a higher or MUCH lower count... I don't even know. I'm not even paying attention to the poly count, I'm jsut giving it my all... I find I get preoccupied with the polies and it degrades my work. But that's just me. :]

So on the to-do list for tonight, since I don't work until 1pm tomorrow afternoon... I wanna re-build this aft section to make it smoother and more streamlined; less tacky, and reconstruct the aft section of the saucer to make it look like the hull connection of the Tiburon, as seen below. I may also build new impulse engines and with any luck, have similar manifolds to Lint's defiant. Similar, but not identical of course. :]

Then, of course, if I have any other ideas I'll impliment them. I was also thinking of making a forward torpedo turret like what's on the century, but more rounded like the Sovereign's... anybody have any thoughts on this?

-Aeries.

[here's a link to what I mean, by secondary hull/saucer connection...]

http://drs.battleclinic.com/downloads/fed/tiburon_angle3.jpg

I think it'll work out perfectly, if I can even mold it into the command module. :]

OH! And i wanna put in new shuttle bays and a bunch of other little things to spice it up a bit. Stay tuned, and thanks for the support!

He's biting me... I am SO tempted to throw some interesting comments out there regarding that, but... that's for freepost only. But even THEN.. xD

I'm new to rendering, gimme a break. xD

Speaking of rendering, I took a render of the window thingies I added the night before. They have their issues. I know. can't do anything, though, with Max being a poop head again. Only this time I cant seem to fix whatever it is... *sigh*
