i never did like those nacelles in all honesty...  slap on some galaxy-type nacelles and id like the ship a whole lot more lol  ok it's completely uncanon, i know - i just think it would look nicer... :P (it would almost look like a sister ship to the New Orleans, id imagine...)

Ambassador nacelles would look just a nice.
this is true also...

But those resemble choco-pops.
lol ya

We're COO-COO for COCOA POPS!

I must agree, though. Slap on some Galaxy nacelles for the ole' girl and she's set. I don't imagine it'd be that hard... even for an amateur modeler, I think it'd be fairly easy when you know where the tools are and what some of them do.

How about I do both? A canon and non-canon, but the canon will probably get done first.

Canon should ALWAYS go first. ;) Great work so far, as usual. :S

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

I don't think we should throw the C word around here since it was never really seen on screen :P. Well, as a pile of debris but that doesn't really count!

Alright, here's my plan of attack:
  • Bash in the Korolev saucer and LC's Cheyenne nacelles for a podless version.
  • Bash in the SNS engineering hull for the pod.
  • Bash in new nacelles. (Poll will be up for nacelle type.)
  • Then, redo textures.

nice!!  see - thats what im talking about!
how does the deflector look on that ship?  honestly, the nacelles were the only reason ive never bothered to include it in any of my installs...  but if a version with nacelles like that were out there, then i definitely would include it in my ships list :)

There is no deflector on the ship without the pod, just a ton of mesh errors.

Use as much of the Korolev as you can if Glenn lets you. The Korolev is my absolute favorite ship! :D

Yeah, no deflector. The secondary hull blends with the saucer. I wonder why LC never did a Springfield for his Wolf 359 pack.

Maybe he forgot.

How about I do both? A canon and non-canon, but the canon will probably get done first.

Doing both sounds great.

IMO, canon (or what is considered "quasi-canon") first. As you already stated.

Non-canon (Galaxy nacelles) 2nd.

I wouldn't mind seeing more ships (including this one) with Ambassador-style nacelles. The Springfield Class while it has some similarities with the Galaxy, Nebula and Freedom classes, I believe it was constructed pre-TNG and should logically have an older design. But that's just my opinion of course.

also remember to model in the pod at the bottom..wich is lacking on most models...check ex astris  Scientia

Its missing from most models cause a standard Springfield doesn't have any pods. ;)

Sometimes it carries a SWAC pod similar to the neb's and sometimes it carries an engineering hull pod.
All hail the messiah!

Some progress. There are some holes in the mesh, but I am trying to figure out how to fill them in.

He did.  He just never textured/released it.  There was a thread on BCU about it, but I see that those threads are most likely all gone now.

Good luck on the mesh though, A decent Springfield is long overdue.
