Springfield Class Retexture/Rebash
« on: October 07, 2008, 04:41:25 PM »
Because I think I'll get more input and C&C here than in the KM:R dev forums, I'm going to post this WIP here as well as there. Basically I'm retexturing the old Springfield class and also partially remapping her. Her is what she looks like right now with some very basic textures on her. Any comments and criticism will be helpful. (However, telling me that the mesh is a mess won't help, I know that, I just can't fix it.)

I've always liked this ship.

Keep it going! It'll be nice to get a fresh new coat of paint on her.

Some new renders. Also, the last picture shows a weird mapping issue I'm having. The "V" in "Chekov" is getting flipped.

There's a shuttle bay below that pod, just above the aft torpedo launcher.

What's with the yellow thing on the back of the pod? Is that supposed to be an engine?

Yes, I believe it is supposed to be the main impulse engine.

It looks like your problem with Chekov is it needs to be rotated 180 and flipped I think virticle.  If that doesn't work, try horizontal :).

I'd love to remodel/kitbash her, but I lack the skills.

i never did like those nacelles in all honesty...  slap on some galaxy-type nacelles and id like the ship a whole lot more lol  ok it's completely uncanon, i know - i just think it would look nicer... :P (it would almost look like a sister ship to the New Orleans, id imagine...)

Ambassador nacelles would look just a nice. But those resemble choco-pops.
