Right here is a question that is bugging me.

Which way is forward?

The Enterprise you assume is approuching the most direct root from Earth so when the cloud clears you see the big yellow tube. But in the directors cut the CGI V'ger is shown flying the yellow tube at the rear?

Is this the way it flys? I prefer the pre-directors cut notion of the yellow tube being forward.

Your thoughts?

But in both versions, before the cloud clears, the Enterprise does its flyby along the top of V'Ger, towards the "yellow tube", so if the Enterprise was coming in from the shortest route, either way the "yellow tube" is at the rear.

This is looking really good, keep it up! =)

The Enterprise flys away from the yellow end with the ball as it is the first thing you see as Enterprise clears the cloud. V'ger's cloud is over 82 AU's (The Earth is 1.00 ? 0.02 AU from the Sun.) in diameter why would Enterprise waste time flying around back to enter the cloud.

I just thing that maybe the directors cut boys have it reversing into Earth orbit?

Also they edited the size of the could to 2AUs I believe.

Anyway baz V'ger looks fabulous. One question, is the entrance and chamber scaled to the Connie or can you fly a Galaxy into it?

Judging from the film footage you'll gould fly a SSD in there and still have room either side!

The  Director's cut does say 2AU because 82AU covers most of the solar system, from what they said.

Unless those verts line up 100% im assuming the model is getting messy mate, looks good in the render, but what does the wire look like mate???

Its a separate object? how many parts does this model consist of? or is this a BC thing..   I am working on ONE unified mesh one object, bc allows for multiple objects to be attached and considered one??  :?

At the moment it is about 30 seperate piece, though like my Enterprise I will attach and collapse it to a single mesh. I have already since the version 1 of the model in the game (see page 2) so it converted ok.

Next will be adding some surface and interior detail prior to proper unwraping.
