Recheck the shape of the plasma grid, it looks off. Also, that recreational deck pic should span the round windows too.

The deflector grid was traced off the official TMP blueprints.

I will adjust the rec deck windows.

LOL not the deflector grid dummy, the plasma grid :P And on second view, I'd say that the deflector has to go in deeper into the sec hull, about halfway between the matter field sensors and the deflector ring infront of it (the secod one that is lighted that is). FYI, the official TMP blueprints are hilariously innacurate.

That alone deserves a cookie for making my day.

I love the model, mate, and envy your learning ability.

Agreed.  :?

But Adonis is right about the blueprints.  You're far better off just using the studio model and movies as your reference.

I've smoothed the edges on the dorsal and pylons and added the windows.

Finally nice to have a use for my tmp sets!

You need to round off the edges slightly of the warp pylons and neck connecting the saucer to the engineering hull.

The way they are set up on your model right now makes it look like someone could cut their finger if they were to run them down the edges of the neck and warp pylons.

Other then that, its not bad.

I think he is trying to tell you to chamfer some edges mate, on the four corners of the pylons etc, to round off the overall shape.

*cookied*
Also, you should chamfer (round off) the 4 edges of the neck connecting the saucer to the secondary hull.

Baz, to chamfer means to round an edge off so that it doesnt look so sharp and edgey.
If you look at the pictures of the movie model linked in an earlier post, you'll notice that the edges of the neck and warp pylons are rounded and not sharp and edgey.

I have highlighted the the bits that you may want to consider tweaking. It should be done with these and any other edges that are on the other warp pylon not shown in the picture aswell as the back of the neck.

I was just thinking, shouldn't the saucer textures go straight to the edge?

It looks good mate, textures look great also,

as far as chamferring, the neck looks like it needs a slightly bigger one, and the pylons need much bigger ones, to match the tear drop shape..

but thats just my opinion mate, we are all being picky and your models improve 200% with each release. Good luck mate  8)
