Prototype Guitar ships
« on: December 08, 2009, 10:35:48 AM »
Because I see that many people like the idea for guitar ships, I made this topic. Everyone who made guitar ship can post it here. Here we can put ideas and some tips about the "SHIPS OF STEEL" ;) . I am starting with this:
USS Scott Ian, Rhythm class starship. For now only tha main hull is ready. Here is a pic of the original guitar

Drop the guitar theme and add some detail you have a nifty Ferengi ship there.

I'm glad you decided to cash in on this.  it was me mentioning the original Trekie of Steel (and me being totally impressed by it) that brought you in.  I've got a few ideas myself fro the guitar ship (which, btw, is a royal mess to unwrap...I was gonna make a new skin for you).

there should at least be a bass as the equivalent of a destroyer or heavy cruiser.  and I've got name ideas and one I might just make myself...a Double Neck Bass as a royally heavy shooter.  also, could you add some tuning pegs as well,  because it just doesn't look right without them.

Edit: he's got a point!  guitar bodies modified to Ferengi ships...cool concept.  God knows some more Ferengi are needed (as there's only one custom ship for them)  I'd also suggest some back formation, swiping ferengi (and, as far as I'm concerned, some Cardy) ships to guitar up!

Looks like the body of the guitar could be larger, it's a bit out of proportion with the neck, going by your reference pic.

Unless he remakes it to an Erlewine Chiquita. That the guitar MJF used in Back to the Future in the "Big Amp" scene.

BC is probably too old for that (someone would have to write a script for it)

Not even a script would make it reflect. The engine BC uses is too old.

Wasn't there a bridge retexture released a while back that had live reflections?

Yeah, shame they wouldn't work in BC. :(
