First off, exceptional work DJ!

I think that LC has done a magnificent job on the Intrepid... although a new one from DJ would still be nice.

But how about a class that hasn't been given that much justice.

My suggestions:

- Norway
- Akira - Scotchy's is real nice but.......
- Nebula
- Now this one isn't really "canon" but, I kind of feel that it should be and If I remember correctly, DJ doesn't much like this design too much but I really like it... How about a Luna Class?

My suggestion for new high-poly canon models:

Got plenty of already great looking canon Fed ships, however I think there may be room for:
- Nova Class
- Nebula Class (believe is WIP?!?)
- First Contact ships (Saber, Norway, Steamrunner)

In addition to non-Fed ships:
- Negh'var
- Vor'cha
- Delta Quadrant ships
- Dominion ships

Ofcourse, adding new concepts of highly detailed non-canon Klingon and Romulan ships wouldn't be a bad idea either ;)

Well, if you're asking for suggestions and inspiration...I say the Akira-class or the Romulan Valdore(absolutely the BEST thing to come out of that movie).

To Boldly Go...Again.

my suggestion is the refit sov we never got to see... you already got the base model done :P
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

im surprised no one has done the DS9 version of the Nebula Class (USS Bonchune) - it would be the easiest thing to do since it is a kitbash of galaxy parts lol

I'll third the Refit-Sov-we-never-saw and raise you one TARDIS. :p

I'd love to see what you could do without BC's restrictions, DJ. Say; a CGI quality model of the Sov? :p You'd be unstoppable. xD

wow this is awsome  :dance  for a canon ship, id suggest the defiant, pureley because that ship is an easy build and the one we have is kinda under detailed(no nastyness intended...) :idk:

Lints Defiant is "under detailed"? Could've fooled me.

I may as well say Akira or Nebula too, seeing as everyone else is.

Though I am not a moderator, I would say to stop asking DJ for ship requests until he has something new to say or add.

:D  Any suggestions for canon ships that need an overhaul?

I'll let this go for a while... since DJ asked for em.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

I was just about to quote that too.  DJ kinda opened the floodgates with that one  :D

Ok then. I was eventually going to build this, but how about the Scimitar?

That would have been my vote.  Along with the two large Dominion ships.  Think those three are the weakest BC models.

ya besides once he decides, all these posts will be deleted anyway...

on that note - perhaps the next post should go to DJ so he can consider the suggestions thus far and determine whether or not he likes any of them and if more suggestions are needed...
otherwise, we'll go through the next 5 pages in a few hours lol

here are the suggestions so far:

Akira
Defiant
Intrepid
Luna
Nebula
DS9 Refit Nebula (USS Bonchune, galaxy kitbash)
Norway
Nova
Sabre
Steamrunner
Sovereign Refit (unseen)
Wolf 359 ships

Delta Quadrant ships - altho JLS is already working on a megamod of the Delta Quadrant ships...
Dominion ships
Negh'var
Romulan Warbird
Romulan Talon & Science Vessel
Scimitar
Valdore
Vor'cha

please let DJ have the next post...

thx :)

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.  I'll take them under advisement.

I've shaved off a few hundred polys.  Down to 20,716.  Still wanna get under 20k.

*edit: now 20,260.

*edit2: Ok.  19,994.  I really wanted to be able to say I could put forward this level of detail with less than 20k polygons.  Originally I was shooting for 16-18k, but I've optimized quite a bit, and I don't want to pull any more polys out of some of the key detail areas.  Nor do I want to reduce the number around the edge of the saucer, as I can't stand models where the saucer is jaggy.
