Made this on my iPod.  God is it awful.  Well, anyways, it's obviously trending after the Vesta class.

Now why does that design look familiar to me? *raises right eyebrow* :P

But in all seriousness this does look more like the vesta, dont think you ment to reference something else did you?

Nice try, but if you'll check the date I posted it up, you'll notice it was a day before you requisitioned the Inferno. :P

Doesn't mean that I won't blend in some similar details here and there though. ;)

I've made an actual sketch for the unnamed class and I'll try to post it up soon.  I'll take suggestions for class name, ship name, and registry.

Here's in-progress concept art of the Inferno.  I'll try to actually scan it so you can see details better.

Love the front end.

Back end looks good too but other than the nacelles, I think a bit too much like DJ's Athena.

I agree with that, the original design had certain aspect of myself in it (if you know what i mean) and while your concept design is good, it seems to be lacking some parts that would look good there for instance the original nacells and the smoothed sharpness of the saucer area, and i did say take some artistic liscence with the side and fore views but i would like it to closely resemble my original dorsal sketch if possible ok farshot, this is mainly so i can look at the ship a feel like im one with it and myself and also so other people who use the ship can understand what was going through my mind when i first put her down on paper if you get what im saying, im not trying to completely dismiss your concept, because it is very professional, but id like to see a sizeable reference to the original material i gave you ok?

EDIT: also when it comes time to hardpoint this ship, its gotta be one of those ships that can go in guns blazing and withstand a fair bit of abuse k?

Actually I believe its a lot closer to the original sketches than you're giving credit for.  No offense to you, but the original sketches didn't show very good engineering comprehension.  I'm drawing orthos as well and you should be able to see that it's much more like the original than you think.  Also the nacelle design isn't final by any means.

Oh ok, couldnt see it because of the photo quality, looked like you'd modified the design quite a bit, ill probably see it clearer once that image is scanned in :D

it would probably be best to do a comparrison shot of your concept and my original design so i can see how it matches up and get an idea of how shell look ingame in my head.

EDIT (06/03/2012): also, dont get rid of that nacell design, its kinda grown on me...

Ok so using your photo of your orthographic shot of the inferno, i traced it out in paint.net, and put the peices together and got this:

its just a rough image but i like this design now including the nacells, my old ones seemed a bit too blocky, anyways, lemme know what you think ok farshot?

You're close, Flarespire.  I've made the scans of the Inferno as well as the "White Tiger".  I might use Panther as a ship name, but I'm looking for something more Roman.

I like the tracery and the color fill.  shoulda done that with mine to test liveries.

there might be a problem with the roman name Motif.  Romulan ships, even now, use a roman naming motif, and a lot of the good ones have been taken (even the reboot swiped a few roman names).  mabey you should switch to names from later in the history of the Italian penninsula (but avoid WW2 italian ship names...their navy is still visible through glass bottom boats, I hear :P)

i suggest some of the better italian aircraft names, and a few exoticars.  mabey use the Ceasers themselves as a naming motif (i suggest Augustus, at least, as Julius is kind of a given)

I don't know about you but I would love to see a USS Longitudinale Posteriore 570-4 Superleggera!
